DNVN - Nghe An is gradually innovating and improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising associated with digital transformation. In particular, strengthening propaganda to raise social awareness about tourism associated with promoting the image of Nghe An tourism on media channels, newspapers, social networking sites and digital platforms...
"Fragmented" community tourism spots
As the largest province in the country, Nghe An possesses a rich and diverse cultural treasure with many famous landscapes and historical relics. In particular, the Western region of Nghe An possesses great potential for developing community tourism with a diverse ecosystem and unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities such as Thai, Mong, Kho Mu, etc., creating a strong attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
Western Nghe An has great potential for developing community tourism with diverse ecosystems and unique cultural identities of ethnic minorities such as Thai, Mong, Kho Mu...
Stretching from the lowlands to the highlands, many tourist destinations have been formed, typically: Hoa Tien village community tourism village; Quang Phuc and Cooc village community tourism sites (Tuong Duong district); Co Muong, Muong Dan community tourism sites, and Nhat Minh Farmstay (Que Phong district)...
To date, 23 villages with 54 households have participated in developing homestay services, creating a fairly large community tourism network throughout the province. In addition to creating jobs and income for local people, community tourism models also contribute to preserving, promoting and popularizing the cultural values of ethnic minorities. The models not only create a variety of tourism products, attracting a large number of tourists, but also contribute to increasing livelihoods and improving the lives of local people.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Son - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Quy Chau district said: Currently, Hoa Tien village has 9 community homestays that are qualified to serve tourists with food, accommodation and experiences. Here, there are fully arranged stalls selling traditional products along with many accompanying practical tourism experiences such as: rafting on streams, fishing, experiencing cooking Thai cuisine, dyeing brocade, picking mulberries to feed silkworms, wrapping buffalo horn cakes, making rice...
Hoa Tien Village has 9 community homestays that are qualified to serve tourists with meals, accommodation and experiences.
However, Mr. Son is also worried that with the increasingly modern development trend, people's lives are increasingly improved, replacing stilt houses and wooden houses with built houses will risk destroying the common architectural space. In addition, the source of funding to invest in exploiting tourism resources is still limited. Tourism products are still monotonous, service quality is not high, the professional level and skills of tourism workers do not meet the requirements of tourism development and promotion.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quang - Deputy Head of the Department of Tourism Resource Development Planning, Nghe An Provincial Department of Tourism also expressed his concerns: In reality, community tourism products in Nghe An have only developed on a small scale, have not been invested in and organized systematically, leading to the implementation of tourism models not bringing the highest efficiency. The coordination between agencies, authorities, local people, and tourism businesses is still not tight, not smooth, and does not create attraction and appeal to tourists from all over the world.
In addition, the issue of attracting socialized capital to build infrastructure, cultural institutions, entertainment, recreation, relaxation and resort services in disadvantaged areas, remote areas is still limited. Traveling is difficult, models are spontaneous, fragmented, small, unsynchronized and especially the human resources serving tourism are lacking and weak in both quality and quantity... which has greatly affected the quality and activities of community tourism.
Boost marketing strategy
With the support and companionship of local agencies and authorities, in recent times, many tourism service businesses in Nghe An province have been more proactive in marketing their products to increase the number of visitors and maintain stable and sustainable growth.
Ms. Sam Thi Bich - owner of a community tourism homestay in Quy Chau district shared: In recent times, with the enthusiastic support of all levels of government and local authorities in promoting tourism products through mass media, tourism promotion programs, etc., the Hoa Tien community tourism village model has become more widely known to domestic and international tourists. Thereby, helping tourism service businesses and households in the area increase the number of visitors, bringing in more stable revenue than before.
Nghe An will continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising associated with digital transformation, to promote the image of Nghe An tourism.
Regarding solutions to develop Nghe An community tourism sustainably, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quang shared: “In the coming time, it is necessary to focus on investing resources, building essential infrastructure to serve community tourism activities; strengthening promotion and advertising to build tourism brands, develop markets and tourism products for destinations; focus on improving the quality of human resources to serve community tourism activities....
In particular, promoting propaganda, introducing and promoting to domestic and foreign tourists the unique and attractive beauty of Nghe An tourism through social networking sites, media channels, newspapers, publications, tourism gifts, etc. Promoting tourism products based on digital platforms is considered a core factor helping Nghe An attract domestic and international tourists.
Thanks to that, in 2024, Nghe An tourism industry welcomed more than 9.5 million tourists. Notably, the number of tourists staying in the city reached 5.9 million, international visitors reached 120,500. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 28,569 billion, of which tourism revenue is estimated at VND 11,160 billion.
Promoting tourism products based on digital platforms is considered a core factor helping Nghe An attract domestic and international tourists.
Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that in order for Nghe An tourism to develop, departments, branches, localities and the Provincial Tourism Association should promptly grasp and propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles for tourism service businesses to promote business activities.
Strengthen market research, tourist needs and tastes to adjust the way of building products and providing appropriate services. Promote investment attraction to develop infrastructure, facilities and improve product quality, diversify tourism services. Strengthen cooperation and linkage activities to develop domestic and foreign tourism; develop tourism human resources.
On the other hand, Nghe An provincial government will continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising associated with digital transformation. In particular, strengthening propaganda to raise social awareness of tourism associated with promoting the image of Nghe An tourism on media channels, newspapers, social networking sites and digital platforms. At the same time, coordinating the implementation of the project "Application of technology of industry 4.0 to develop smart tourism, promoting tourism development to become a spearhead economic sector".
