At this time, Luong Can Seafood Processing and Purchasing Cooperative in Phuc Hai village, Cam Nhuong commune (Cam Xuyen) is rushing to prepare goods to supply the market at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year. Due to the need to increase production, the facility has hired more workers to keep up with production and "deliver orders" to customers.
It is known that thanks to the successful construction of the 3-star OCOP product at the provincial level, the quality of Luong Can fish sauce has been increasingly improved, and customers in many places across the country trust and use it.
This year, Luong Can Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative plans to sell about 6,000 liters of various types of fish sauce.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Can - Director of the Cooperative said: "Up to this point, we have received orders for about more than 3,000 liters of fish sauce from large and small agents in and outside the province such as Hanoi, Quang Binh, Ho Chi Minh City... and orders are expected to continue to increase in the following days.
This year, the cooperative plans to release about 6,000 liters of various types of fish sauce to the market. To meet the market demand for Tet, the cooperative has packaged many types of bottles, from 0.5 liter to 1 liter bottles with many diverse designs. During the production process, the facility always puts "trust" first by creating delicious products, ensuring quality, food hygiene and safety as well as environmental hygiene, reasonable prices... Thereby, maintaining a position in the market, gaining the trust of customers".

Not far away, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (Phuc Hai village, Cam Nhuong commune) is also busy preparing Tet goods. Her main source of goods is dried shrimp, dried squid and frozen fish.
“It is estimated that in the last month of the year, the facility will supply the market with over 20 tons of various types of seafood, of which the most are dried squid, dried shrimp and mackerel. Currently, the facility is stepping up purchasing to stock up on Tet goods. Customers not only buy for their own use but also send them to other provinces as gifts. The amount of goods that the facility is currently purchasing is twice as much as usual, but we are still worried that we will not have enough goods to supply to customers in the days leading up to Tet,” said Ms. Mai.
In the last month of the year, Ms. Mai's facility supplied the market with about more than 20 tons of various types of seafood.
According to Ms. Mai, in the era of technology 4.0, in order for seafood to be known to many customers, in addition to traditional sales channels, she has used social networking sites such as Facebook, Zalo, Tiktok... to connect with the market. Thanks to that, products sell better, profits also increase significantly.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhon's family is one of the long-standing seafood businesses in Lien Tan village (Thach Kim commune, Loc Ha). Realizing that the demand for seafood products will increase at the end of the year, she has invested nearly 300 million VND to purchase seafood such as mackerel, fresh shrimp, fresh squid... taking advantage of the time to process, classify and package them for storage in a cold storage.
Ms. Nhon said: “On average, my family buys and sells about 10 tons of seafood of all kinds every month. During Tet, the demand increases 3-4 times. Therefore, to ensure the quality of fresh seafood, my family has invested in building a cold storage facility to better preserve seafood. Buying seafood early will help my family have enough supply to supply the Tet market, avoiding out-of-stock situations.”
According to some retailers, the prices of seafood products are currently stable. Specifically: fresh squid from 270 - 450 thousand VND/kg; fresh shrimp 200 - 450 thousand VND/kg; mackerel 250 thousand VND/kg; dried shrimp 800 thousand VND/kg; dried squid ranges from 800 thousand VND - 2 million VND/kg...
Fishermen take advantage of the sunny weather to catch seafood on the last trip of the year.
According to many fishermen, the exploitation situation at the end of the year encountered many difficulties due to unfavorable weather, low output, but in return, seafood prices were high, so people were very excited.
Fisherman Bui Van Nam (Thach Kim commune, Loc Ha) shared: “Not only my boat but also most of the other boats in the area are taking advantage of the sunny days to go out to sea to earn money from the sea. At the end of the year, the demand for seafood increases, prices are also stable, so all fishermen try to go out to sea to earn more income. In the past few days, my boat has mainly caught sardines, squid... after deducting expenses, I earned nearly 6 million VND/trip."
The bustling seafood purchasing and stable consumption have brought excitement to small traders as well as fishermen in Ha Tinh, making them feel secure in going out to sea.
