(MPI) - On February 9, 2025, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung joined the working delegation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to survey two important road projects in the area, namely Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road and Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, to encourage construction forces and continue to remove difficulties and obstacles, promoting the projects.

Accordingly, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung joined the working delegation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit and encourage workers constructing the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway (Binh Dinh) project, part of the North - South Expressway in the East; presented gifts to officers and workers at the construction site of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway project (Binh Dinh). Here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and asked the contractors to continue their efforts in construction, deploying "3 shifts, 4 shifts, overcoming the sun and rain, eating and sleeping quickly, working during the day when there is not enough time, working at night, working through holidays and Tet", with many creative solutions and initiatives; at the same time, strengthening cooperation, using subcontractors and local enterprises to speed up construction progress and help local enterprises grow and mature.
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon (Binh Dinh) expressway project is 88 km long, with a total investment of more than VND 20,469 billion, and is part of the North - South expressway project in the East. The project has 3 tunnels through the mountain with a total length of nearly 5 km. This is a public investment project, the Ministry of Transport is the investor, the construction contractor is a consortium led by Deo Ca Group; the progress according to the contract is completed in September 2026, striving to complete the bridge and road sections by August 31, 2025.
On the same morning, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung joined the Prime Minister's working delegation to survey the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project; congratulated Tet, presented gifts to officials and workers at the construction site and visited and encouraged people in the project area. According to the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the coastal road system has a length of 3,034 km. Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated November 3, 2022 of the Politburo on the development of the North Central and Central Coast regions to 2030, with a vision to 2045, determined that by 2030, the coastal road in localities in the region will be completed.
Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road is about 100 km long, located in the coastal road system of the whole country, invested by Quang Ngai province with approved capital of 5,654 billion VND (excluding depreciation value).
Up to now, the project has been invested and put into operation with a length of 32.5 km, is investing in construction of 25.2 km, the uninvested section is about 31 km and overlaps with National Highway 1 for 11.3 km.
In the working program, in the afternoon of the same day, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung joined the working delegation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to work with the leaders of Quang Ngai province on the socio-economic development situation of the province; resolved the recommendations and proposals of the province; removed difficulties and obstacles, cleared resources, created conditions, promoted potential and advantages for Quang Ngai to develop quickly and sustainably./.
