Contribute thousands of working days

Despite the cold drizzle, the construction of a house for the family of war invalid Vu Xuan Hoa in Mo Trach village, Tan Hong commune (Binh Giang) is still on schedule. Dozens of officers and employees of the Binh Giang District Military Command and local militia braved the rain to transport sand, bricks, and cement to the construction site. Sweat soaked the soldiers' uniforms.

Major Phung Van Hoang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Binh Giang District, said: “To carry out the dual goal of both preparing well for training and completing the task of supporting the construction of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services, each officer and employee in the unit implements the motto of one person doing the work of two. This is both a responsibility and a contribution to the good implementation of the military rear policy.”

From February 6 to 18, the Military Command of Binh Giang District coordinated to start building 3 houses for people with meritorious services in the area. The unit has assigned officers and employees to help reduce part of the cost of building the houses and will also donate some essential household items to help the families stabilize their lives soon.

On this occasion, the Nam Sach District Military Command also increased its forces to support the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services, ensuring completion in time for the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday on May 19.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Tan's family, a relative of a martyr in Tran Phu commune (Nam Sach), has lived in a dilapidated house for many years. Now that they have received attention and a solid house, he is very excited. "The joint efforts of the armed forces and local organizations have helped my family soon fulfill our dream of having a safe place to live. I am very grateful and very touched," said Mr. Tan.

According to the Military Command of Hai Duong province, strictly implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and implementing the peak emulation campaign of the Provincial People's Committee on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Military Command of the province was assigned to support the construction of 36 houses for people with revolutionary contributions in the province.

The Provincial Military Command has assigned and assigned targets on quantity and working days to all Military Commands at the district, town and city levels. Each unit is responsible for supporting 3-4 houses. At the same time, soldiers and militia forces are sent to accompany and assist people throughout the construction process until the house is completed.

"The provincial military command has asked officers, employees and soldiers participating in the support to uphold their sense of responsibility, seriously carry out the work, consider the support work for the people as their own family work, and ensure the construction progress," said Colonel Vu Hong Anh.

According to preliminary statistics from the Provincial Military Command, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces and local militia forces will participate in more than 7,500 working days to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses on this occasion.
