Water levels in the Northern, North Central, and Southeastern regions were low, with some reservoirs at or below the dead water level.
The amount of water flowing into the lake is mainly to regulate the water to ensure the minimum flow, hydroelectric plants operate to generate electricity using the water flow, the number of plants that have to stop is mainly concentrated in the Northern and North Central regions to ensure the safety of the generators when operating with low flow and water column below the design, it is difficult to meet the electricity generation according to the operating process.
There are still some lakes at dead water level such as Lai Chau, Son La, Thac Ba, Tuyen Quang, Ban Ve, Hua Na, Thac Mo, Tri An. Hydropower plants that have to stop generating electricity because the flow and water level of the lakes are not guaranteed include: Son La, Lai Chau, Huoi Quang, Thac Ba, Tuyen Quang, Hua Na, Trung Son, Tri An.
