On behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong signed Decision No. 84 on appointing comrade Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and President, to join the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On the morning of June 15, the Central Public Security Party Committee Conference for the first 6 months of 2023 took place in Hanoi.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee attended and delivered a speech at the Conference.
Also attending and giving speeches at the Conference were: President Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee.
General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security chaired the Conference.

Before the conference, Minister To Lam announced the Politburo's decision. Accordingly, on March 23, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on behalf of the Politburo, signed Decision No. 84 on appointing comrade Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and President, to join the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
This is the first Central Public Security Party Committee Conference that President Vo Van Thuong attended.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister To Lam said that, implementing the working regulations and work program for 2023, the Central Public Security Party Committee organized the Central Public Security Party Committee Conference for the first 6 months of 2023 and gave opinions on a number of contents according to the program.
At the Conference, delegates will discuss and give opinions on: Draft Report of the Central Public Security Party Committee assessing work results from the beginning of the term to present, directions and key tasks until the end of the term;
Draft Report on reviewing the leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee Standing Committee for the mid-term 2020-2025;
Assessing the situation of public security work in the first 6 months of the year and looking back at the first half of the term, and orienting the work for the last 6 months of 2023 of the Ministry of Public Security;
Proposing new contents and new policies in the summary of 10 years of implementing Resolution 8 of the 11th Central Committee on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation;
Organizing a vote of confidence for the members of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee who are Deputy Ministers of Public Security...
Minister To Lam asked delegates to focus on researching and giving opinions on many important contents at the conference, continue to edit and perfect for unified implementation, especially tasks that need to be carried out immediately in 2023.
