Politburo requests to perfect institutions to make 'corruption impossible'

The Politburo has just issued a directive on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, and selflessness, emphasizing that these are the most important moral qualities of cadres, party members, civil servants, and public employees.

The Directive requires the synchronous implementation of four major policies, first of all, promoting education on thrift, integrity, impartiality and impartiality to avoid corruption, waste and negativity; perfecting tight institutions to prevent corruption, waste and negativity; handling violations without forbidden areas or exceptions to prevent corruption, waste and negativity; improving the lives of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers to avoid corruption and negativity.

Cadres and party members, first of all key cadres, leaders, managers, heads of Party committees, Party organizations, and governments at all levels, must set an example in studying and practicing ethical standards in the new period. In particular, each person needs to be dedicated, responsible, diligent, and devoted to the assigned work; be frugal, not extravagant, wasteful; keep themselves clean, not corrupt or cause trouble or harassment.

Every civil servant must also be honest, upright, impartial, and objective; be exemplary in complying with Party regulations and State laws; protect what is right and fight against what is wrong.

The Politburo requires cadres and party members to respect integrity and honor, and proactively take responsibility when they or their relatives are corrupt.

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and other academies, schools in the military, police, local political schools, and schools for training and fostering cadres at all levels must include the content of diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, and selflessness as one of the main programs.

The content of studying and practicing diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality and selflessness has been made a compulsory topic of Party cell activities, a review content in periodic activities and a criterion for evaluating and classifying Party committees, Party organizations and Party members annually.

The Politburo also requested to promote the role of literature and art in educating people towards truth, goodness, beauty and the standards of Vietnamese people in the new era, focusing on education on diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality. Campaigns and competitions for literary and artistic creation on this topic as well as the prevention of corruption, waste and negativity need to improve quality, especially through the forms of theater, cinema, literature, music and fine arts.

Along with effectively implementing the national strategy on corruption prevention and negativity, the Politburo directed the development and implementation of the national strategy on waste prevention. The content of practicing thrift, fighting waste and educating integrity will be included in the strategies, plans and socio-economic development programs of ministries, branches and localities.

"Implement education on diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality and impartiality for both public and private sectors with appropriate content and scope," the directive stated.
