After BTS's 10th anniversary, discussions about the boy band's military enlistment continue. The question is, who will replace BTS's position and global influence?
BlackPink is predicted to dominate the Korean music industry in the future.
YTN believes that BlackPink is a strong candidate for this position in the future thanks to its distinct, clear and unique sound. The members are all capable of dancing and singing. Most importantly, the 4 girls from YG Entertainment have a huge and growing global fan base.
Not only that, in August and September 2020, BlackPink also surpassed BTS on the brand value chart when the group members were ambassadors of a series of high-end and leading brands in the world.
Currently, while BTS members are pursuing solo careers before their military enlistment, BlackPink focuses their energy on group activities and international expansion.
The group is busy with a world tour, bringing in incredible revenue. This helps the group's name become more and more known, while the individual status of each member also improves.
Therefore, YTN said, experts believe that BlackPink has all the necessary elements to maintain the heat of K-Pop on the global music map.
BlackPink group
Previously, the revenue statistics platform Touring Data announced that BlackPink is the group with the highest revenue for a single concert night in world history. Even the group BTS has not had such a record achievement.
Accordingly, the two shows on April 26 and 27 as part of the Born Pink World Tour at Foro Sol Stadium (Mexico City, Mexico) brought in a total revenue of 19,978,283 USD (about 469 billion VND) with 113,498 tickets sold.
That means each concert of BlackPink in Mexico brought in revenue of 9.989 million USD (more than 230 billion VND) with 56,749 audiences attending. This also helped the YG group own the most successful concert in the history of the Mexican market. The previous record belonged to singer Bad Bunny with revenue of 8.84 million USD (more than 207 billion VND) for the concert on the evening of December 4, 2022.
