In a solemn and respectful atmosphere at Huynh Thuc Khang Memorial House (Tien Canh Commune), the leaders offered flowers and incense to express their deep gratitude for Huynh Thuc Khang's great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Mr. Huynh was a man of great learning, virtue, and ambition. In 1905, Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang, along with the patriots Phan Chau Trinh and Tran Quy Cap, went to the South to study the situation, observe the people, their morale, and advocated new learning. Then, he returned to Quang Nam to initiate and lead the Duy Tan movement. Later, he was arrested by the French colonialists and exiled to Con Dao prison for 13 years (1908 - 1921).
Immediately after his release, Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang actively worked to demand rights for the people and the country. In 1926, Mr. Huynh became the President of the Central Vietnam House of Representatives with the desire to contribute to helping the people and the country, but he failed to achieve his goal, so he resigned. After the August Revolution in 1945, Mr. Huynh held the position of Minister of the Interior. In early 1946, he became the President of the Vietnam National Union. In early 1947, due to old age and serious illness, Mr. Huynh passed away in Quang Ngai province (April 21, 1947).
On this occasion, the delegates also visited the grave of Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang's father in the memorial house.
