Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary proposed to be expelled from the Party

Violations by some party members at the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and An Giang Provincial Party Committee were reviewed and concluded by the Politburo and Secretariat at a meeting on January 27.

Based on the proposal of the Central Inspection Commission, the Politburo and the Secretariat determined that many individuals, leaders and former leaders of these two Party organizations, had committed violations to the extent that they must be disciplined.

Regarding violations at the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat determined that Mr. Tran Duc Quan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Province, had degraded in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle.

These officials also violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

On the side of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the province and Mr. Tran Anh Thu, Vice Chairman of the province, were also pointed out by the Politburo and the Secretariat for violations due to degradation in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; violating Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, violating regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

According to the Politburo and Secretariat, the violations of the above individuals have caused very serious consequences, public outrage, and have had a very negative impact on the reputation of the Party organization and local government.

The Politburo decided to propose that the Party Central Committee take disciplinary action to expel Mr. Tran Duc Quan from the Party.

The Secretariat also decided to discipline by expelling from the Party the following: Tran Van Hiep, Nguyen Thanh Binh and Tran Anh Thu.

The Politburo and the Secretariat also requested that relevant agencies promptly and consistently enforce administrative discipline in line with party discipline.
