Sold out, gold price "freely fell" on the night of April 4

At 10:00 p.m. on April 4, Vietnam time, world gold prices have not stopped falling after a sharp decline.

In just over 2 hours of trading, the gold price fell from 3,136 USD/ounce to 3,032 USD/ounce - a total decrease of more than 100 USD (more than 3.1 million VND/tael). This is the collapse of the gold price after a series of continuous increases over the past time.

The sharp sell-off in gold prices on the night of April 4 was quite surprising, as concerns over the impact of the US tariff policy on other countries have not yet subsided. According to analysts, profit-taking and selling pressure from short-term traders is causing gold prices to "fall vertically".

Meanwhile, the US March employment report just released showed the number of new jobs increased more than expected with 228,000 new jobs created. This data increased confidence in the economy, causing investors to less seek safe assets such as gold.

World gold price dropped by 100 USD/ounce (about 3.1 million VND/tael) after only a few hours of trading.

Speaking to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper on the evening of April 4, gold expert Tran Duy Phuong analyzed: The news that China will impose retaliatory tariffs on the US after President Donald Trump announced the tariff policy only caused a temporary increase in gold prices. After failing to hold the $3,137/ounce mark, gold prices fell sharply under the pressure of investors selling off and taking profits.

"With the current developments, it is expected that the gold price may fall back to close to the 2,900 USD/ounce mark this month," Mr. Phuong commented.

The world gold price "free fall" made many investors expect the domestic gold price to adjust down on April 5. By the evening of the same day, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by businesses at 98.8 million VND/tael for buying and 101.3 million VND/tael for selling - a total decrease of 900,000 VND compared to the previous day.

The price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds is listed by SJC Company at 98.7 million VND/tael for buying, 101.2 million VND/tael for selling - down 800,000 VND compared to the morning.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is only 94.9 million VND/tael.
