Pustular psoriasis is a severe variant of psoriasis caused by a disorder of the skin's immune system. This condition accounts for about 1% of psoriasis cases.

Classify
Pustular psoriasis is divided into two forms: localized and diffuse based on clinical manifestations and location of formation.
- Diffuse pustular psoriasis: Pustular rash appears suddenly all over the body, with forms including:
+ Von Zumbusch psoriasis is pustular psoriasis all over the body accompanied by symptoms of fever, joint pain, muscle weakness, headache, dehydration, anemia...
+ Annular psoriasis with circular lesions with crusting at the wound edges.
+ Acute pustular psoriasis usually has no systemic symptoms and resolves spontaneously after a few days.
+ Herpes simplex impetigo is a pustular form of psoriasis that appears in pregnant women.
- Localized pustular psoriasis: Appears on the palms, soles, tips of fingers, toes and nails.
The disease is common in adults, especially those with a history of psoriasis.
Factors that increase the risk of disease:
- Genetics.
- Staphylococcus aureus skin infection.
- Abrupt discontinuation of systemic steroid use.
- Electrolyte imbalance, hypocalcemia.

Most cases respond well to home treatment under the guidance of a doctor, but some more severe cases require hospitalization.
