Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that the investment in the construction of the new Thu Duc Regional General Hospital is part of the health infrastructure development plan of Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Tuyet requested the hospital's Board of Directors to soon develop an effective operating process, take advantage of modern facilities and develop a team of highly specialized medical and management staff.
At the same time, it is recommended that the Department of Health continue to lead and direct to maximize the hospital's potential, promote specialties and soon form a Trauma Emergency Center as originally planned.
Mr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, emphasized the special attention of the city government to investing in the health system. He highly appreciated the support from leading hospitals in signing a contract to provide professional support to Thu Duc Regional General Hospital.
The Department of Health expects the hospital to promote its existing capacity, build coordination models such as satellite departments, satellite clinics, and soon form the Northeastern Gateway Trauma Center of Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to reducing the load on upper-level hospitals.
The hospital is designed according to modern international standards.
In 2021, the Prime Minister approved the project to build 3 new gateway hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City: Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc, with a total capital of nearly 10,000 billion VND.
Thu Duc Regional General Hospital is located on Le Van Chi Street, Linh Trung Ward, with a scale of 1,000 beds, 10 floors above ground, 1 basement, a total construction area of over 78,000 m², and a total investment of over 1,915 billion VND.
According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City, the hospital is designed in a modern style according to international standards, focusing on functional chains, reasonable space division and investment in advanced technical infrastructure. It is expected to contribute to making Ho Chi Minh City become the leading medical service center in Southeast Asia after 2025.
