The set of criteria aims to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism, environmental protection, and the goal of achieving carbon neutral status (Netzero). At the same time, it contributes to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of tourism in the province, contributing to minimizing costs and optimizing benefits for the natural environment, local communities, workers, and tourism businesses and establishments.

The set of criteria is designed for travel agencies, tourist areas, tourist attractions and tourist accommodation establishments. Each specific subject clearly states the criteria groups for each entity in implementing specific indicators on management and operations at facilities and units associated with environmental protection. Each indicator has a specific score for assessment and quantification, along with reporting and evidence requirements.

The set of green tourism criteria is an important tool to guide and measure the sustainable development of the tourism industry. These criteria will help encourage tourism businesses to apply environmentally friendly models; ensure harmony between economic development, environmental protection and preservation of local culture; raise awareness of the community and tourists in protecting the landscape and environment.
