Secretary of the City Party Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the City Nguyen Van Tuan gave a speech at the meeting.

According to the report, after organizing the launching ceremony of "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" and starting construction of 33 houses in phase 1 of 2025 on March 20, 2025, up to now, the communes and wards have started construction of 30/33 houses. house. Specifically, 19 new houses built, 11 houses repaired. Total Construction cost nearly 1.5 billion VND.  

These are households that are eligible for construction according to the criteria of Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction . In phase 2, Ben Tre City will start construction of 37 temporary houses and dilapidated houses for households that are not eligible for construction according to the criteria of Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction and carry out procedures to build the Great Unity area in Phu Tan ward to soon arrange 26 households belonging to the beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households who do not have the conditions to build and repair houses to soon stabilize their lives, feel secure in working and producing, and develop the economy.

Concluding the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee - Head of the Steering Committee Nguyen Van Tuan emphasized: The program to eliminate dilapidated temporary houses is a key task, requesting that sectors and localities must be determined and resolute to ensure the set progress. For cases where construction has not yet started, it is necessary to continue to encourage households to coordinate with the authorities to soon complete the housing, ensuring the completion and handover of 33 houses in phase 1 before April 30, 2025 and phase 2 before June 30, 2025.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio -political organizations of the city and communes and wards strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to participate in contributing to housing construction, contributing working days, implementing and supervising the implementation .

Previously, Secretary of Ben Tre City Party Committee Nguyen Van Tuan had a field survey of the infrastructure construction project of the Great Unity Area in Phu Tan Ward, Ben Tre City.

According to the project, the Great Unity Area of ​​Phu Tan Ward is built on a land area of ​​about 1,700m2 . This is a project to support 26 households with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households and households with difficult circumstances who are living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses and cannot afford to build new or repair. Each newly built house has an area of ​​40-50m2 . The investment scale includes the following items: Leveling the ground, traffic roads, drainage system, wastewater system, lighting system, green tree system, concreting existing canals and building underground sewer systems. The project has a total investment of nearly 4.4 billion VND, invested by the Ben Tre City Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

In recent times, Ben Tre city and communes have made great efforts to implement the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Many solidarity houses, charity houses, and gratitude houses have been repaired and newly built. Currently, Ben Tre city has 7 solidarity areas with 103 houses. Poor, near-poor, and households with housing difficulties have been arranged to live stably.

The new great solidarity area to be built in Phu Tan ward is a project of great significance, not only showing gratitude and concern of the Party and State to "leave no one behind", but also showing solidarity, faith and hope for a better future for households in difficult circumstances.
