This place is dyed with the emerald green color of new rice and when the rice is ripe, it shines with a brilliant golden color.
Late August and early September is the time when Mu Cang Chai appears with golden rice fields stretching across the valley, captivating tourists from all over.
From September 1-2, at Lim Mong village, Cao Pha commune, Mu Cang Chai district, the paragliding festival "Flying over the scenic area - golden season 2024" will take place to promote tourism and introduce the terraced fields to domestic and international tourists.
Paragliding Festival is a combination of aerial sports and Yen Bai's tourism promotion campaign.
Coming to the Festival, visitors will be able to admire unique paragliding performances such as 20 paragliding pilots flying in coordination, creating shapes in the air with artistic smoke and light; hundreds of paragliding pilots without engines taking off from the top of Khau Pha Pass, flying along Lim Mong Valley to land at the landing site near the opening ceremony location.
Most special is the flag-raising performance to celebrate National Day September 2.
In addition, the program also provides tandem flight experiences for tourists using both powered and unpowered paragliders during the golden season from August 25 to November 30. Tourists will fly with professional pilots who have the most flight hours in Vietnam. From the air, they can admire the surreal beauty of the terraced fields in the ripe rice season with a feeling of floating, freedom, both thrilling and exciting.
The Festival "Flying over the scenic spots - golden season 2024" is invested in on a large scale, expected to welcome thousands of visitors to attend and experience.

The opening ceremony of the Paragliding Festival "Flying over the scenic area - golden season 2024" was held at 8:00 a.m. on September 1 at the Paragliding Landing Site of Ban Lim Thai, Cao Pha Commune.
In the first 7 months of 2024, Mu Cang Chai district welcomed over 178 thousand tourists. Of which, nearly 16 thousand were foreign visitors, 35 thousand were guests staying in the district, with tourism revenue reaching over 175 billion VND.
In the coming time, Mu Cang Chai district will continue to organize many activities to attract visitors and develop tourism.
In particular, on September 2, in addition to the Paragliding Festival "Flying over the scenic area - golden season 2024", the district will organize the first Son Tra Flower Festival with the theme "Son Tra Legend".

Mu Cang Chai is located about 300km from Hanoi. Although not too far, the road to get here is somewhat more difficult than Sa Pa, Moc Chau because of many passes and slopes.
Visitors can choose to take a bus (mainly from My Dinh bus station), a shuttle bus from the resorts or a private car along route 32.
