Arrested driver for defrauding court to appropriate 250 million VND

On November 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Le District Police, Da Nang City, announced that it had just caught a young man red-handed for "fraudulently appropriating property" by receiving money to fix a case.

Previously, Cam Le District Police received information that a young man was suspected of committing fraud and appropriating property by receiving money to help a local resident get a sentence.

After urgently verifying, the police identified this young man as Nguyen Hoang Anh (28 years old, residing in Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district), a driver.

At noon on October 22, when Anh was receiving 250 million VND from Ms. TTNM (26 years old, living in Da Nang), Cam Le District Police caught him red-handed.

At the police station, Anh initially confessed that after receiving information that NTH (27 years old, residing in Cam Le district - TTNM's husband) was arrested by Hai Chau district police (Da Nang) for the act of "Organizing illegal use of drugs", he had the intention of defrauding and appropriating money.

He told Ms. M. that he had a wide network of acquaintances with the Hai Chau District Police and could arrange for NTH to be released without being criminally prosecuted.

On October 18, Anh made an appointment to meet Ms. M.'s family at a coffee shop on Pham Van Dong Street and offered 300 million VND to help H. avoid criminal proceedings. On the afternoon of October 18, at a coffee shop on Thang Long Street (Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District), Anh received 100 million VND in advance from Ms. M. and promised that H. would be released 15-20 days later.

On October 22, Anh continued to ask M. for another 200 million VND to take care of the matter, but Ms. M. said she only had 150 million VND. Hearing that, Anh said he would lend Ms. M. another 50 million VND to make up the balance and arranged to meet at a coffee shop in Khue Trung ward, Cam Le district to deliver the money.

Here, after receiving 150 million VND from Ms. M., Anh was about to leave the shop when he was caught red-handed by the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Le District Police.

Based on the testimony and collected documents and evidence, the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Le District Police initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and detained Nguyen Hoang Anh to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
