Arrest of illegal transportation of 22 wild parrots

Tong Cot Border Guard Station discovered and arrested two subjects for violating regulations on the protection of endangered and rare animals, as stipulated in Article 244 of the Penal Code.

Specifically, at 4:30 p.m. on April 8, 2023, in Nguom Vai hamlet, Noi Thon commune (Ha Quang), Tong Cot Border Guard Station discovered and arrested two subjects: Luong Van Ken (born in 1972), Luong Van Cao (born in 1999), both residing in Cha Vac hamlet, Cai Vien commune (Ha Quang) who were illegally transporting wild parrots from Vietnam to China. The evidence seized at the scene included 22 individuals.

The subjects and evidence were arrested at Tong Cot Border Guard Station.

Through the statements of the two subjects, Tong Cot Border Guard Station summoned and clarified that Hoang Van Huong, residing in Nguom Vai hamlet, Noi Thon commune (Ha Quang) was the mastermind who hired Ken and Cao to transport the above wild parrots to China for a salary of 400,000 VND/person.

Currently, Tong Cot Border Guard Station is coordinating with functional forces to continue investigating and clarifying to handle according to the provisions of law.
