Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan was arrested for fraudulently selling a Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII. |
Specifically, in 2023, although Mr. Tuan did not have a car import license, he still went to Can Tho, met a tycoon and said that he could import a Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII to Vietnam , register a diplomatic license plate... Tuan committed that the car would be imported to Hai Phong port in April 2024 and delivered to the customer for 980,000 USD (about 25 billion VND).
The deposit for the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII was 6.4 billion VND, which Tuan used to pay off debts and spend instead of ordering cars for customers. As of February 23, 2024, VOV Car Vietnam Co., Ltd. is no longer in business. After repeatedly asking Tuan to provide photos, videos of the car as well as the invoice for the money transfer but receiving no response, the tycoon went to Can Tho City Police to report.
