Preserving and promoting cultural values ​​in new rural construction

In recent times, the work of preserving and promoting cultural values ​​in the New Rural Construction movement has been focused on by Party committees and authorities at all levels in Thanh Hoa province, aiming to preserve and develop, improve the quality of life, and enrich the spiritual life of the people.

Nhu Xuan district preserves and promotes the cultural values ​​of the Tho ethnic group in building cultural life in residential areas associated with new rural construction.

Nhu Xuan is a mountainous district located in the southwest of the province, with four ethnic groups Kinh, Thai, Muong, and Tho living there for a long time. During the process of building a new rural area, local authorities in the district have focused on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhu Xuan District, Le Anh Tuan, said: "Determining that building new rural areas associated with building cultural life in residential areas is a key task of the locality, the Standing Committee of the Nhu Xuan District Party Committee has directed Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and organizations to pay attention to leading, directing, and implementing solutions to improve the quality of cultural and spiritual life for the people. In particular, villages, hamlets, and residential areas have preserved unique local cultural features and customs; eliminated bad customs and superstitions; built conventions and village covenants clearly defining the responsibilities and obligations of individuals and families in implementing the criteria for building cultural families, cultural villages, hamlets, and residential areas; mobilized people to contribute money, labor, and donate land to build inter-village traffic works, flower fences, cultural houses, sports areas, and build bright - green - clean - beautiful environmental landscapes...".

Tho Xuan, a locality with a long history and cultural tradition, in the process of building a new rural area, the Party Committee and the local government always identify "Culture as both the foundation and the driving force for socio-economic development". Therefore, the Party Committee and the local government from the district to the grassroots level have implemented many synchronous solutions to improve the quality of grassroots cultural activities, improve the quality of cultural criteria, and contribute to improving the spiritual life of the people. Tho Xuan district has taken the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with building a new rural area as the central content. From there, direct localities to closely follow the content of the program and instructions from higher levels to implement in accordance with the actual situation in the localities. Step up propaganda and mobilize people to actively participate in implementing criteria and movements. Arouse the spirit of solidarity among the people, help each other develop the economy, join hands to build a new rural area, and build a good cultural environment. Up to now, 100% of communes and villages in the district have met cultural standards, and 90% of families have achieved the title of Cultural Family. Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities are organized regularly and enthusiastically... Most cultural and sports institutions ensure the standards and regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the same time, promoting the function of being a meeting place, organizing cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities... gradually meeting the increasing enjoyment needs of the people.

Thanh Hoa is a historical land rich in cultural traditions, a place that still preserves many national cultural values, with about 1,535 historical relics, scenic spots, 755 intangible cultural heritages with nearly 300 festivals, rituals, customs, beliefs, proverbs, folk songs, folk games, and folk performances. The Kinh, Muong, Thai, Dao, Tho, Kho Mu, Mong ethnic groups living together in the province have created a diverse and rich picture of traditional cultural identity. Determining the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values ​​associated with new rural development as a key task, localities in the province have prioritized resources to preserve and promote cultural values; contributing to the completion of criteria No. 6 and No. 16 on culture in new rural development. In the province, many localities have implemented activities to protect, restore, embellish and promote values ​​according to the law on cultural heritage; organize traditional cultural forms such as festivals, games, performances; maintain, develop and replicate folk cultural forms in community activities at village and hamlet cultural houses... Through preserving and promoting traditional cultural identities, it has contributed to enriching the spiritual life of the people, creating livable rural areas.

In order to preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​in a practical and effective manner, the cultural sector of localities is effectively implementing the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development".
