Speaking to Da Nang Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan, Deputy Director of PC Da Nang, said that forecasts show that in the dry season of 2025, the power load capacity in Da Nang could reach a maximum of 760 MW, an increase of about 10.9% compared to the peak of the dry season of 2024. The peak capacity is expected to fall in June 2025. Although the demand for electricity consumption is high, according to the assessment of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the power supply in 2025 will still basically be sufficient for most months of the year.

* What specific solutions has the Da Nang electricity industry implemented to ensure stable power supply during the dry season?

Since the end of 2024, PC Da Nang has directed units to synchronously deploy many solutions to ensure safe and continuous power supply in 2025, especially during the peak period from May to August. Specifically, the company has completed periodic testing work, overcoming shortcomings after inspection before the dry season. At the same time, deploying the installation of additional distribution transformer stations (TBA), sharing the load between public stations, reducing power loss and shortening the power supply radius.

The target is no more than 300 customers per public substation. The low-voltage grid system is also branched and connected in a loop with neighboring substations to avoid power interruption during maintenance without the need for mobile substations. The company also closely monitors the load status of medium-voltage lines, especially in areas with high electricity consumption such as Ngu Hanh Son, An Don, and Hoa Khanh. When necessary, medium-voltage lines will be transferred to reduce the load and balance the capacity between areas.

During the hot season, to limit the duration and scope of power outages, maintenance work involving power outages will be scheduled during off-peak hours. In addition, PC Da Nang will promote hot repairs using hotline technology, using mobile substations to quickly handle incidents, and at the same time increase tree trimming along the route corridor, reducing the risk of incidents due to collision with medium voltage lines.

* In prolonged hot weather conditions, the risk of overloading or overloading the power grid may occur. Does PC Da Nang have any plans to ensure the system operates safely and avoid sudden power outages?

In addition to the solutions mentioned above, PC Da Nang has proactively prepared sufficient spare materials, vehicles and additional manpower, especially during peak periods such as the hot season or when many tourists flock, causing a sharp increase in electricity load. In addition, the company will organize grid inspections day and night, promptly detect and quickly handle abnormal phenomena, minimize the risk of incidents and ensure stable power supply for the city.

* Power cuts can greatly affect the operations of manufacturing businesses. What support policies does PC Da Nang have to help them maintain stable operations?

PC Da Nang always accompanies businesses with many practical support solutions. We regularly advise and promote energy saving, encourage businesses to replace old equipment with energy-saving technology, periodically maintain machinery and adjust off-peak load.

In addition, the company promotes the load adjustment program (DR), helping businesses optimize costs and ensure stable power sources. Power outages will be arranged mainly on Saturdays and Sundays to minimize impacts on production. PC Da Nang also coordinates with businesses to conduct periodic technical inspections, minimize equipment failures, and ensure continuous power sources for production and business activities.

* What solutions does PC Da Nang have to encourage people and businesses to use electricity economically and reduce pressure on the system?

In 2025, PC Da Nang aims to save at least 2% of total electricity consumption, especially during the peak dry season months. The company promotes propaganda and guides customers to use the EVNCPC CSKH application to monitor electricity output in real time and adjust consumption habits appropriately.

At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to implement programs such as "Energy-saving households", the IoT technology application contest "Conquering challenges, convenient green living" and the electricity saving movement in schools. For businesses, PC Da Nang works directly with customers in the industrial and construction sectors to advise on effective electricity usage plans, adjust appropriate capacity, shift production time outside of peak hours and participate in the load adjustment program (DR).

In addition, the company maintains the program "Accompanying customers to use electricity safely, economically and effectively", providing free transformer station repair and cleaning services for businesses. During the Earth Hour 2025 Campaign, PC Da Nang will continue to call on public lighting units, restaurants, hotels and households to respond to saving electricity.

* Thank you for this conversation!

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh, Deputy General Director of EVNCPC: Facing the pressure of increasing load and the risk of incidents in the 2025 dry season, EVNCPC is synchronously implementing solutions to ensure safe and continuous power supply for the Central - Central Highlands region. Accordingly, EVNCPC requires member units to strictly comply with the operation plan, improve the reliability of the power system, strengthen grid inspection and speed up the progress of overload prevention projects. At the same time, EVNCPC will promote the propaganda of electricity saving and coordinate with local authorities to ensure electricity for important events in 2025.
