On the afternoon of January 14, news from Cam Lo District Police (Quang Tri Province) said that the unit is coordinating with relevant agencies to continue investigating and handling the case of two young men, biological brothers, illegally transporting 20kg of crystals suspected to be synthetic drugs.

Previously, at around 9:10 a.m. on January 9, at Km1+840 National Highway 9 in Dong Ha City (Quang Tri Province), a working group of Cam Lo District Police discovered and arrested Pham Duy Trung (27 years old) and Pham Ngoc Dat (25 years old, brothers (both residing in Luong Le village, Tan Hop commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri) while transporting goods suspected to be prohibited goods.
At the scene, the police temporarily seized evidence of about 20kg of white crystals packaged in 20 plastic bags, suspected to be synthetic drugs that Trung and Dat put in their personal backpacks.
In a quick fight, Trung and Dat initially admitted that the white crystals were methamphetamine. Trung and Dat said they had agreed to transport the drugs for a person in Huong Hoa district (identity unknown) from Quang Tri to Ho Chi Minh City and if they succeeded, they would be paid 60 million VND.

According to Cam Lo District Police, this is the largest drug trafficking case ever discovered and arrested by the police force.
Currently, Cam Lo District Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to continue investigating and handling Trung and Dat as well as searching for related people.
