NDO - On the evening of November 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the final round of the AI Hackathon 2024 competition, with the theme "Protecting the Green Planet" ended with creative presentations and emotional competitions from talented teams. The competition was organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with KDI Education.
The AI Hackathon 2024 Finals is a playground for creative talents. Teams must demonstrate their abilities and convince a prestigious jury, including leading experts in the fields of education and artificial intelligence.
Sharing about the purpose of the AI Hackathon 2024 competition, Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung, Deputy General Director of KDI Education, said that this year's competition is organized to help students have the opportunity to get closer to artificial intelligence (AI) technology, know how to apply it to solve problems in life and nurture their passion for technology, while also wishing to contribute to nurturing future technological potential.
In the final round, the 12 strongest teams in Group A (primary school) presented their projects directly to the jury. The outstanding ideas brought by the students impressed not only for their creativity but also for their focus on urgent environmental issues.

In the final results of Group A, the team from Cu Chi Town Primary School won the first prize with the project "Smart study lamp with AIOT technology" integrating many technologies such as Teachable machine, yolo uno circuit, light sensor, AI camera...
The runner-up team is from Truong Dinh Primary School, District 12 with the project "Green Gift Box" which aims to help students raise awareness of environmental protection by properly classifying waste, accumulating points and receiving gifts.
Third Prize went to the team from the ICS Bilingual School System with the project “ECOSORT”. Through this project, the students hope to spread the message to schools so that they can better understand waste classification and contribute to awareness and protection of the green planet.

No less exciting are the dramatic and explosive confrontations from the 12 best alliances (2 teams each) of the 2 groups: Group B (middle school) and C (high school) using AI-integrated robots to solve problems and achieve outstanding scores.
In the final result, team B119-Tan Thanh Dong Secondary School and B137-Thi Tran 2 Secondary School won the championship of group B. The championship of group C belonged to team C002-Ly Thuong Kiet High School and C001-Thu Duc High School.
Second prize in group B belongs to team B076-Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School and B023-Hai Ba Trung Secondary School. Second prize in group C belongs to team C056-Long Truong High School and C016-Nguyen Huu Tien High School.

Third prize winners of groups B and C are respectively: B027-Nguyen Van To Secondary School and B111-Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School; C010-Thu Duc High School and C008-Thu Duc High School.
In addition, to promote creativity and encourage young talents, the organizers have awarded many additional prizes to the competing teams of all 3 groups, including: Encouragement Prize, Creative Prize, Team Prize and Potential Prize.
Ms. Phan Thi Quy Truc, Deputy Head of the Department of Intellectual Property Management and Innovation (Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) shared that through this contest, it shows that the creativity of students is limitless. The enthusiasm of youth and the limitless application of AI have helped them create products that help solve many practical problems.

The AI Hackathon 2024 is one of the events of the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE 2024). The success of the competition has marked an important step forward for KDI Education in its journey to help discover and develop students' abilities, providing them with valuable experiences.
