Nvidia Corp. has emerged as the world's most valuable listed semiconductor company as a major supplier of chips and computer systems for artificial intelligence.

The company last week forecast second-quarter revenue that was 50% higher than Wall Street estimates and said it was increasing supply to meet growing demand for its AI chips, which are used to power ChatGPT and many similar services.
Speaking to thousands of people at the Computex forum in Taipei, Mr Huang said AI was leading a computing revolution. “We are in a new era of computing,” he said in his speech. “Every era of computing brings us things we couldn’t do before, and now it’s the era of AI.”
"The barrier to programming is incredibly low. We've closed the digital divide. Everyone is a programmer now because you just tell the computer what you need," he said. "Because it's so easy to use, it's so popular and growing so fast. It's going to impact literally every industry."
Nvidia chips have helped companies like Microsoft add human-like conversational features to search engines like Bing. Mr. Huang has demonstrated what AI can do, including having AI write a song praising Nvidia.
Nvidia’s supply is failing to keep up with demand for AI chips. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is reportedly building an artificial intelligence startup, said last week that GPU chips are now “harder to get than drugs.”
