70 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory: Publishing the book Dien Bien Phu

Baoquocte.vn. The National Political Publishing House Truth launched the book Dien Bien Phu - History and Memory on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

The book is a useful resource for historical and military researchers; academies, schools, libraries, and museums nationwide; helping students, trainees, and researchers majoring in history and readers who love national history to better understand the glorious and important victories of our nation that took place in the 20th century.

The book was compiled by the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, the Vietnam Historical Science Association and the National Political Publishing House Truth, selecting articles analyzing and deeply evaluating the Dien Bien Phu Campaign by generals who were directly present, commanded, and participated in the campaign that year, scientists, military commentators, writers, and journalists at home and abroad that were published in the magazines: Xua & Nay , Military History , and Political Theory .

The book is structured into three parts. Part one: Dien Bien Phu Victory - Shining Vietnamese spirit and intelligence. Part two: People Who Made History. Part Three: Dien Bien Phu - Historic days of May.

The book provides readers with perspectives, comments, and objective assessments of the historical value, stature, and significance of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign; contributing to recreating the heroic days of our entire Party, people, and army in the strategic battle, contributing decisively to the victory of our people's resistance war against the French colonialists.

At the same time, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the heroes, soldiers, frontline workers, and youth volunteers who heroically sacrificed their blood and youth for this historic victory.

The victory of the resistance war against French colonialism, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, was a victory of patriotism, the indomitable will and resilience of the Vietnamese people, forged over thousands of years of history; a victory of our Party's correct and creative line of people's war, of the will to "dare to fight, be determined to fight, know how to fight and know how to win".

This is also a victory of the spirit of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, combining national strength and the strength of the times; a victory of the loyal and steadfast fighting solidarity of the army and people of the three countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, together with the support and assistance of international friends.
