The question-and-answer session was chaired by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan answered questions on a group of issues within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's area of responsibility.
At the question-and-answer session, 26 National Assembly deputies directly questioned, and 2 deputies debated groups of issues under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The questions included solutions to remove difficulties in agricultural exports.
Specifically, the output market has narrowed, many businesses have no orders, some key agricultural products have fallen in price, and farmers' income and lives have been affected....
Activities of exploiting, protecting and developing aquatic resources; solutions to remove the European Commission's (EC) "yellow card" on aquatic products; conversion of land use purposes; recovery of rice-growing land areas; ensuring food security and rice export... were also questioned by the delegates.
Concluding the question-and-answer session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue assessed that the National Assembly deputies had prepared well, and the questions were of good quality, close to reality, life and aspirations of the people and voters.
The Ministers were questioned with a high sense of responsibility, had a firm grasp of the current situation of the industry and the fields they were in charge of, clarified the current situation and proposed many solutions for each question.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly deputies highly appreciated, approved, acknowledged and committed the Ministers at the questioning session.
From the questions of National Assembly deputies, many existing and pressing issues in society have been promptly considered and resolved; many policies have been issued, making important contributions to the country's socio-economic development and ensuring social security.
Through questioning activities, it helps to detect shortcomings and limitations in the law enforcement process, as well as enhance the responsibility of ministers in finding solutions to overcome limitations and shortcomings.
