Ten teachers from vocational training institutions in Ho Chi Minh City were honored and awarded the Tran Dai Nghia Award on the afternoon of November 19.
These are 10 outstanding individuals in the vocational education sector, who have contributed to the development of education, training and human resource development for the city and the country. The Tran Dai Nghia Award is a traditional award in the field of vocational education, established by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and held for the first time in 2022. This year is the second time the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has awarded this award to outstanding individuals in the field of vocational education. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, affirmed that vocational education is a level of the national education system, playing an important role in developing the country's economy, and is a place to supply trained human resources for the labor market. On behalf of the city's leaders, the Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee praised the achievements of vocational education activities in Ho Chi Minh City in recent times. Students at vocational education institutions in the city have achieved many high achievements in domestic and international competitions. According to Ms. Dieu Thuy, to achieve such achievements, it is impossible not to mention the team of teachers who are experts of vocational education institutions, who have trained and coached students with professional knowledge and solid vocational skills. “I know that there are many individuals and groups who have actively and silently contributed to the city's vocational education sector, but have not been honored. Today, I would like to respectfully acknowledge all of those contributions. To improve the quality of vocational education in the city in the coming time, I hope and entrust teachers to continue to maintain their enthusiasm, keep the flame of passion and pass that flame on to students so that they can be passionate about studying, scientific research, starting a business and creating,” the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said. As one of the 10 individuals receiving the Tran Dai Nghia Award, Mr. Luong Xuan Thanh, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City Dance College, shared that this award is not only an honor for individuals but also a recognition of the collective efforts. Sharing at the program, Ms. Dang Thanh Tam, lecturer of the Faculty of Economics, College of Transport, expressed her hope that the Tran Dai Nghia Award will be held more regularly so that more teachers can participate and be recognized for their contributions to the vocational education sector. During the program, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City also presented flowers to congratulate the teachers who won prizes in the 2024 National Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Competition; and awarded prizes to units and individuals who won prizes in the first city-level vocational education art performance in 2024.
