1,200 Hanoi education officials study management skills

Hanoi More than 1,200 officials from district and county education departments and leaders of preschools to high schools participated in a training course to improve their knowledge and skills.

The Training Course for Civil Servants and Public Employees in the Hanoi Education Sector was organized by the Department of Education and Training of the city at the British University Vietnam (BUV) with 10 sessions in 5 weeks. Thereby, learners can improve their knowledge and skills in education management, public service implementation; unit management and professional expertise associated with digital transformation; implementing the policy of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in the trend of international integration.

Here, BUV's professors and PhDs shared knowledge and practical experience from advanced training models in the country and the world with students. The lecturers talked about the future of global education, international trends and experiences; Digital transformation in education and applications of technology in education; artificial intelligence in education and BUV's experience in responding to the trend of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

After 10 training sessions, Ms. Pham Thi Huong Giang - Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) shared that through the sessions, she had a better understanding of school management using technology and effectively applied online learning after Covid-19. She was also impressed with BUV's lecturers for their extensive professional knowledge and effective teaching methods.

“The facilities at BUV are creatively and professionally designed, creating an exciting and inspiring learning environment,” she added.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc - Vice Principal of Tran Duy Hung Secondary School (Cau Giay, Hanoi) also assessed that, in the context of information technology playing an indispensable role in school administration and teaching, the contents that BUV is advising the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and educational management levels are "correct and accurate".

"BUV organized the training course and paid attention to the smallest details such as translation. We all accessed new knowledge effectively," he emphasized.

After the program, participating civil servants and public employees will spread the knowledge, technology and experience learned to their colleagues to apply them to daily management work, teaching and learning to improve work efficiency, and at the same time, orientate changes in management thinking in the context of the current industrial revolution.

At the end of the training course, Professor Rick Bennett - Vice President of BUV shared that the school wishes to cooperate more comprehensively with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, districts in the area and schools in research, policy development and capacity building in the process of promoting digitalization of education. He hopes that the staff can effectively apply new technology in education, making efforts to build a smart school model.

"BUV's ultimate goal is to contribute to the overall development of education and industries in Vietnam for a sustainable future," he affirmed.

BUV is a UK university-based higher education institution accredited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). The school also achieved 5 QS Stars (Quacquarelli Symonds' star rating system).
