The changes on Zalo PC demonstrate a spirit of learning, concern for the problems Zalo users encounter and constant innovation to bring the most convenient and easy Zalo user experience.
In this update, Zalo PC focuses on 3 main aspects: Improving application performance, improving application interface, and improvements to bring diverse user experience options and increase user satisfaction.
Upgrading performance and increasing stability when using Zalo PC are the main concerns of users in Zalo's annual product surveys. User feedback shows that sometimes slowness and lag still occur with Zalo PC; the application is unstable when used regularly. This is common among users with a large number of daily interactive messages and large Zalo memory.
To overcome the above situations, Zalo PC has made many improvements to optimize application startup time, message display time when opening chat windows, limit device crashes during use leading to loss of user messages, improve performance when using Zalo PC continuously and for a long time.
The latest upgrade of Zalo PC has brought users a faster, lighter version with outstanding performance improvements: The application starts up 2 times faster, displays messages 3 times faster while the application stability increases 10 times.
Common problems with the old interface on Zalo PC include some types of location messages, story response messages... being displayed out of sync between the PC version and the mobile version.
In addition, the chat window interface in the previous version was considered outdated compared to other messaging applications on the market, and the message display space was not optimized. This affected the experience and feeling of young users when using Zalo PC.
With the latest version updated in November, the Zalo PC team has standardized the user interface (UI) of many types of messages, adding new types of messages that are missing compared to the Zalo Mobile version. The entire chat window interface has also been changed, creating a fresh, youthful look for the application.
From the feedback through the survey conducted by Zalo PC, many users expressed their desire to have a “Dark Mode” interface (dark screen) on Zalo PC. Adding a dark interface helps increase user satisfaction, thereby helping to shape a unique style for Zalo PC.
Dark Mode also brings practical benefits to users such as helping to protect and relax the eyes. This feature is especially suitable for using Zalo at night or in low light environments.
In November, Zalo PC planned the banner system to display properly and in the right position, minimizing the number of banners appearing in the chat window. Action reminder notification banners and system notification banners were separated into two separate positions, avoiding overlapping and displaying multiple banners at the same time. Less important tasks such as blocking conversation notifications were removed from the banner positions. In addition, changes to interface standardization and color separation for banner levels were also made.
One of the main problems that Zalo PC users often report is the difficulty in searching for old messages or files. Specifically, the results that users need to search for are often not displayed at the top but hidden deep below. The content of the suggested results lacks clear information, users spend time reading each result to get the desired information. The search results list covers the conversation list, making it difficult for users to update new messages.
Zalo PC has overcome the above disadvantages by tightening the "logical matching" (compatibility in the reasonableness between the search content and the returned results) by eliminating the case of keyword order reversal, results with words inserted between keywords... and prioritizing the return of the search results at the top of the list. In addition, the returned results prioritize displaying the content around the keywords, not fixedly displaying at the top of the message. The display of the result list is also moved from the left position (conversation list side) to the right side of the messaging frame.
Changes in search help optimize user experience in many aspects: Faster search, more accurate results, optimized messaging experience for users while searching, optimized preview result display space.
