Speaking to Dan Tri reporters on the afternoon of September 28, Vice Chairwoman of District 1 People's Committee Mai Thi Hong Hoa said that the locality had a meeting with Chuong Duong Primary School and the teacher who was reported by parents to have solicited money to buy computers (laptops). District leaders affirmed that this was only an isolated incident that occurred in the area.
"The People's Committee of District 1 has directed units to strictly handle the above incident. The school principals in the district have also reviewed everything and must not let similar cases happen again," the Vice Chairman of District 1 emphasized.
According to Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa, the initial handling of the incident was to temporarily suspend teacher H. (the person complained about by parents) from teaching. The school also assigned another teacher with prestige to take on the role of homeroom teacher of the above class.

The entire amount of money the teacher received from parents to buy the laptop must also be returned. The district leaders also requested the District 1 Education Department to continue to monitor and closely grasp the incident.
Previously, as Dan Tri reported, in the parent-teacher meeting on September 14, Ms. H. expressed her wish for parents to support her with money to buy a laptop because hers had just been lost. Some parents calculated and offered to support the teacher to buy a computer costing 5-6 million VND/unit.
Two days later, Ms. H. continued to text the parents saying that she had bought the laptop for 11 million VND, she asked for support of 6 million VND, compensated with 5 million VND and that the laptop was hers.
Along with the above message, Ms. H. created a poll on Zalo for parents to vote for or against. Notably, when a parent expressed disagreement, Ms. H. immediately asked which child's parent it was and then locked the poll.

After that, Ms. H. texted to say that 26 parents agreed, 3 parents disagreed, and 9 parents had no opinion. Since there were parents who disagreed, she would not accept the support and would buy and use it herself.
The incident continued when on September 17, the teacher texted the parents again, saying that she would not have to prepare a review outline for the students. She agreed to review the lesson and the parents would review it themselves.
