On the evening of October 24, the opening ceremony of the Exhibition to promote and connect OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Phu Xuyen district (Hanoi) took place. The event has a scale of 100 standard booths and 4 exhibition areas introducing OCOP products, traditional craft village products of enterprises, rural industrial establishments, and artisans in Phu Xuyen district. Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade said that this is the third event in a series of events promoting and connecting OCOP products, craft villages serving tourism under the Plan for Developing Creative Design Centers, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in districts and towns in Hanoi city in 2024. Through the Exhibition, organizations and individuals can access, learn, connect creative design activities, promote ideas, design new product models, with economic, technical, and aesthetic values to meet and suit the needs and tastes of customers; From there, it is possible to develop and form a destination for creative design, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, and craft villages associated with tourism.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, Phu Xuyen district currently has 17 artisans from craft villages who have been awarded by the State, including 2 Meritorious Artisans awarded by the President and 15 Artisans recognized by the city. In addition, there are hundreds of artisans and skilled workers honored in the district. In 2023, the City recognized the model of the Center for Creative Design, Introduction, Promotion and Sales of OCOP Products, Craft Village Products Associated with Tourism at the commune level for 10 units in the districts. Of which, the Center for Creative Design, Introduction, Promotion and Sales of OCOP Products, Craft Village Products Associated with Tourism in Chuyen My Commune, Phu Xuyen District achieved a 4-star model. This is a highlight in developing the Creative Design Center model, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with commune-level tourism, becoming a place for exchange, connection, and displaying unique handicraft products of artisans, skilled workers, and young designers; is the driving force for developing more Creative Design Center models in the district. Organizing the Exhibition will contribute to enhancing the value of handicraft products, OCOP, craft villages of the Capital in general and Phu Xuyen district in particular, building a chain of links from creative design, production - processing, product consumption in the domestic and international tourist market on the basis of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of craft villages associated with community tourism activities, agricultural and rural tourism in the circular economy, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2021 - 2025.

Within the framework of the Opening Ceremony, the announcement and awarding ceremony of the City People's Committee's decision to recognize craft tourism spots; recognize craft villages, traditional craft villages; and decide to recognize OCOP products in 2024 took place. The exhibition to promote and trade connecting OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Phu Xuyen district in 2024 took place from October 24 to October 27, 2024 at the Phu Xuyen District Central Stadium.
