Yesterday, after coming home from school, 3rd grade student Huynh Tran Uyen Phuong (Le Quy Don Primary School, Hoa Tan Dong Commune, Dong Hoa Town, Phu Yen Province) combed her long hair again before her parents took her to the barber shop to give to a cancer patient.

Since childhood, her parents have always taught Uyen Phuong to actively do many meaningful things to help people. Therefore, Phuong cherishes the thought of donating her hair to cancer patients when it grows long.

I have taken good care of my hair since I was little, so I was a little sad when I cut it, but thinking about cancer patients who are about to have new hair makes me very happy,” Uyen Phuong said.

Mr. Huynh Phi Hat (Phuong's father) and his son went to the post office to send hair to a hair salon in Hanoi to give to cancer patients. " After donating her hair, Phuong also wrote a letter to the patients herself, which made me very touched and proud of my son," said Mr. Hat.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, Vice Principal in charge of Le Quy Don Primary School, was moved when she learned that student Uyen Phuong donated her hair to cancer patients. " Phuong is a good and gentle student, always actively participates in school movements and has very good academic performance. I am very touched and proud of my student, although she is young, she has warm thoughts and actions," said Ms. Huyen.

On her 14th birthday, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Duong (8th grade student, Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School, Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province) also decided to cut her hair short after more than 3 years of growing it to donate to cancer patients.

The story began when Duong accidentally watched a video of a person donating hair to a cancer patient while surfing the internet.

Duong realized that for him, short hair would grow back, but for cancer patients, it would not. They not only lose their hair, but they may also lose many other things, even the right to live like everyone else. Therefore, Duong courageously "cut off" his naturally long, silky black hair to send to the Hair Library.

" This will be the most memorable birthday of my life," Duong said.

Duong also posted his hair donation story on social media to share and call for people to donate hair. He also gave instructions on how to care for hair that meets the donation standards and hopes that in a few years he will be able to donate hair to cancer "warriors" with his friends.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dien (Duong's mother) commented that Duong is very obedient, gentle and quite shy. " For many years, Duong has been an excellent student in class. After hearing that he intended to donate his hair to cancer patients, I was very happy and proud of him. He is also growing his hair long to donate many more times", Ms. Dien fully supports his meaningful work.
