Artists Nguyen Van Khoi and Kim Luan in the play "By the Silk Weaving Bridge"
Time has passed, causing many changes on the stage, but for the audience who love the art of reformed opera, it is impossible to forget the details in the play "Ben Cau Det Lua", the play has touched the hearts of the audience and is ranked as a classic script composed by the late playwright The Chau.
When re-staging this play, director and People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau hoped to have a generation of artists capable of inheriting the roles of their predecessors, and the play somewhat met that expectation, even though some actors were not suitable for the roles.

The first thing worth noting in this re-performance is the effort of the main actors and actresses, Nguyen Van Khoi (as Tran Minh) and Kim Luan (as Quynh Nga).
The two have had a harmonious combination, based on the creations of previous artists, especially the poetic literary script, with deep meaning in each lyric and dialogue. In particular, many audiences said that when watching Nguyen Van Khoi perform the role of Tran Minh, they remembered the sincere, rustic but emotional acting of the late Meritorious Artist Thanh Sang.

"When I accepted this role, I felt a lot of pressure, because Tran Minh is a role that the public remembers, knows the character well, some people even know the lyrics of the character. I tried to complete the role and put into it the enthusiasm and respect of today's young generation for a classic work" - Artist Nguyen Van Khoi said.
The original play "Ben cau det lua" is based on the story "Tran Minh kho chuoi" in Vietnamese folklore. In the 1960s, playwright Thanh Cao composed a play that was performed on the Tieng Chuong stage. Later, two playwrights Ha Trieu - Hoa Phuong also wrote the script "Quan gam dau lang", which was performed on the Bich Son - Ngoc An stage.

However, when The Chau's script was born in 1976-1977 on the stage of Thanh Minh - Thanh Nga troupe of producer Tho, experts and audiences both highly appreciated it.
"The play's writing is very simple and sincere, promoting filial piety, friendship, loyalty, and the most noble thing is not being greedy for wealth, fame, or abandoning the love and poor life of the past. Therefore, the play lives forever in the hearts of the public and will never be outdated" - People's Artist Thoai Mieu said about the work "By the Silk Weaving Bridge".

The play also has many good performances, honoring the personality and morality of the character Tran Minh, such as the performance of reuniting with Nhuan Dien (played by Vo Thanh Phe) in a poor outfit despite having passed the exam. This performance is considered exemplary because of its profound philosophy of life, rich literary lyrics, and the extremely subtle psychological developments of the poor soulmates.
"The highlight of the play "By the Silk Weaving Bridge" is expressed in its literary value, along with the creation of idealistic character models, typically Quynh Nga - representing the image of a loyal Vietnamese woman who does not rely on wealth to live a weak life - with this role, Kim Luan played the role well, also receiving praise from the audience.
