This information was presented at the annual conference of CitySightseeing Worldwide held in Hanoi on November 27. This is the first time the annual conference of this group has been held in Vietnam.
The conference was attended by founders and operators from more than 30 countries of the CitySightseeing Group and speakers who are leading experts in the tourism industry from countries around the world.
Representatives of the People's Committee, departments of the Hanoi People's Committee and CitySightseeing Group attended the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that in 2023, the total number of tourists to Hanoi will reach 24 million, an increase of 27% compared to 2022; including 4 million international visitors, an increase of 138% compared to 2022, accounting for 1/3 of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. Domestic tourists will reach 20 million, an increase of 16% compared to 2022. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 85.7 trillion VND, an increase of 43% compared to 2022.
Since 2018, Hanoi City has approved the deployment of double-decker buses to serve visitors to historical sites and scenic spots in the city. This is one of the unique and attractive tourism products, helping to enhance the experience for local people as well as domestic and international tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Tat Hieu, General Director of Vietnam Sightseeing Joint Stock Company, said that in recent years, Vietnam tourism has developed strongly and become a key economic sector contributing to the overall development of the country, especially the capital Hanoi, the political, economic and tourism center - City for Peace. However, besides the available tourism resources, Vietnam tourism still lacks specific types and products that are suitable for the general development trend of the world.
"Based on the idea of Mr. Nguyen Ba Tien, Chairman of Toan Cau Group, we have deployed the double-decker bus model in Vietnam starting in 2018 in the capital Hanoi. According to Mr. Hieu, after the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam tourism witnessed a miraculous recovery and the City Sightseeing brand is a testament to the recovery and development of Vietnam tourism. Up to now, the City Sightseeing Vietnam brand has been present in 5 major cities of Vietnam and will continue to be present in other cities.

In November 2018, Vietnamtourism launched a double-decker open-top bus route to visit the monuments and scenic spots of Hanoi. Up to now, after more than 5 years of operation, the Company has expanded this type of bus to Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province; Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province; Ho Chi Minh City; Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. The sightseeing routes are all operating well and are supported and highly appreciated by local authorities.
