Today, June 26, the Provincial Party Standing Committee held a conference to review 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW, dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development (Resolution 33). After 10 years of implementing Resolution 33, Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations from the provincial to grassroots levels have seriously and promptly deployed and implemented the resolution, achieving remarkable results.
The cultural life of the people in the province is increasingly being developed and enriched, many traditional cultural values of the nation are preserved and promoted, many new cultural and ethical standards are formed.
Building cultural families, clans, villages, agencies and schools has had a positive impact on cultural life at the grassroots level, encouraging patriotic emulation movements in all areas of construction and socio-economic development in the province.
The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction has contributed to creating positive changes in the face of the countryside.
By August 31, 2023, Quang Tri province had 95% of families recognized as "Cultural Family"; 96.8% of villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods met cultural standards; 98/125 communes, wards, and towns had standard cultural - sports centers, reaching a rate of 78.4%; 772/800 villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods had cultural houses - sports areas, reaching a rate of 96.5%, of which 454/772 villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods had standard cultural houses - sports areas, reaching a rate of 58.8%.

The traditional culture of ethnic groups in the area is being preserved, researched, collected, restored, promoted and introduced to the outside world. Up to now, in Quang Tri province, there are 4 national treasures recognized by the Prime Minister, 33,000 original documents and artifacts are being stored in the museum, serving the research, sightseeing, studying, contributing to educating traditions and history for the younger generations.
Many intangible cultural heritages are preserved and promoted such as: Cu festival in Gio My commune; the story of Vinh Hoang mandarin; the Sim go custom of Van Kieu people; Ho Nhu Le; Bai Choi festival; Arieuping festival of Ta Oi, Pa Ko people... Backward customs affecting the life and production in ethnic minority areas are gradually limited and eliminated. Culture in religious and belief activities is encouraged, especially in charity and humanitarian work.
Cultural, artistic, fine arts, performance, exhibition and mass arts activities at the grassroots level take place enthusiastically and practically, attracting a large number of cadres, party members, civil servants and people to participate. Traditional festivals are preserved and developed, festival management is gradually becoming more systematic. The gap in cultural enjoyment between urban and rural areas, between regions and social classes is gradually narrowed. Ethical deviations are prevented and pushed back.
State management of culture has been strengthened, cultural institutions have been gradually improved, creating a premise for building and developing culture and people in the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and international integration. The cultural market has been built and developed healthily...
International exchange and cooperation in culture, arts, sports, and tourism with provinces, regions, and countries in the region, especially countries on the East-West Economic Corridor and provinces on the "Central Heritage Road" tourist route, have many positive changes.
Concluding the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang said that, compared to other fields, the field of culture and human development in Quang Tri has had remarkable development. That result is due to the efforts and striving of all levels, sectors, localities, especially the people and the team of cadres working in culture, bringing pride and happiness to the people of Quang Tri.
Besides, it pointed out the shortcomings and limitations such as not yet promoting the level and potential of the relics; still lacking great authors and literary and artistic works with widespread influence; the preservation and promotion of traditional tangible and intangible cultural products are not up to the people's expectations.
In order to effectively implement Resolution 33 in the province towards the goal of building a comprehensively developed culture and people of Quang Tri, meeting the requirements of sustainable national development in the new era, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested Party committees, Party organizations, authorities and unions at all levels to strengthen propaganda work on the importance of developing culture and people of Quang Tri. Focus on propaganda on cultural traditions, history, promoting culture, specific and characteristic tangible and intangible cultural heritages of the province.
Focus on innovation, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of culture. Gradually accelerate the digital transformation process in the fields of culture and tourism. Be proactive, flexible, creative, and actively take advantage of the achievements of the industrial revolution and science and technology 4.0 in preserving, maintaining, and promoting the good traditional cultural values, unique to the ethnic groups in the area. Focus on implementing programs to preserve and restore traditional folk festivals; preserve and promote the province's national intangible cultural heritages...
Focus on developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources in culture and arts of the province. Promote political and ideological education, ethics and lifestyle among cadres, civil servants, public employees and in the field of culture, arts and artists.
Developing Quang Tri people with qualities suitable to the requirements of the new era, associated with caring for and promoting family culture; promoting culture in schools; promoting culture in society, spreading traditional values. Strengthening aesthetic education, combining physical education with knowledge, ethics, and social skills education for all classes of people. Focusing investment resources on cultural activities.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals who had achievements in implementing Resolution 33.
