On the afternoon of July 11, after settling down at the hotel, the Vietnamese women's team quickly went to the field for their first training session in Auckland (New Zealand). Before starting the training session, coach Mai Duc Chung took the time to review with the players the experience of the previous friendly match in which they lost 0-2 to the New Zealand women's team. Mr. Chung reminded the positions about the situations that need to be overcome and the changes that need to be made in the upcoming training session.

Sharing about the match against the New Zealand women's team, midfielder Duong Thi Van said: "Before the match, the whole team also practiced hard to be able to follow the tactics set out by the coaching staff. However, unfortunately, when entering the match, I was not confident. Through this match, the whole team and I also gained experience to play with focus, coordinate closely and play more confidently."

The first training session of the Vietnamese women's team in Auckland encountered some difficulties due to the cold and rainy weather. However, after a period of adaptation to the weather in Napier, this no longer affected the professional quality of the training session. The players still completed the exercises set by the coaching staff and maintained a comfortable state.

It is known that the training session of the Vietnamese women's team took place at North Harbour Stadium. This is the stadium cluster arranged for the official training session of the US women's team before the first match against the Vietnamese women's team in the group stage of the 2023 World Cup.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will play a friendly match against the Spanish women's team on July 14. This is the last chance for coach Mai Duc Chung to test personnel and tactics before entering the official competition in the 2023 World Cup group stage.
