On the morning of July 31, the entire Vietnamese women's team traveled to Dunedin (New Zealand) by a special plane arranged by the World Football Federation (FIFA) specifically for the teams to ensure the tournament's schedule.
Earlier, on the afternoon of July 30, the Vietnamese women's team had a tactical training session at Fred Taylor Park to prepare for the match against the Netherlands. This was the last training session for coach Mai Duc Chung and his team in Auckland, before moving to Dunedin. After completing warm-up exercises with fitness coach Cedric Roger, the players began tactical training exercises prepared by the coaching staff for the match against the Netherlands.

In the match on August 1 against the Netherlands, the chance of Vietnam winning is almost non-existent, even the goal of earning points is difficult to achieve. In the context of being eliminated early and not being able to compete in terms of strength with a strong opponent like the runner-up of the tournament, the Netherlands, many opinions suggest that coach Mai Duc Chung should use the second team, specifically creating opportunities for the reserve players to play as much as possible.
The match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Netherlands women's team will take place at 2 p.m. on August 1 at Forsyth Barr Stadium. The Netherlands team is currently sharing the lead with the US women's team, with both having 4 points after 2 matches. The goal of the Netherlands women's team in the final match of the group stage is to win big against Vietnam to top Group E, while the US must face Portugal.
