With a system of more than 400 caves that have been explored and measured to date, Phong Nha - Ke Bang (Quang Binh) is a famous destination, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
On April 13, after 3 weeks of exploration in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang area, Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts, a group of members of the British Cave Research Association (BCRA) in Vietnam announced the discovery of 22 new caves with a total length of 11.7 km. Leading the group was Mr. Howard Limbert - one of the first members of BCRA to participate in the Son Doong Cave exploration trip in 2009. To date, he and his colleagues have explored about 700 caves across Vietnam, with more than 350 of them located in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. 
The nickname "kingdom of caves" has been associated with Phong Nha - Ke Bang area in particular and Quang Binh province in general for many years. This metaphor has been used by famous newspapers and travel websites in the world such as National Geographic, CNN, Business Insider, Channel News Asia, Bright Side ... when referring to this land. With an area of over 123,326 hectares, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park possesses a topography that was formed over 400 million years, containing a cave system with many undiscovered mysteries. This place was recognized by UNESCO twice as a "World Natural Heritage" in 2003 and 2015, with criteria on geology, biodiversity and development of terrestrial ecosystems. Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is also the first heritage in Southeast Asia to meet 3/4 criteria for a "World Natural Heritage". 
Among the caves discovered to date, Son Doong is the most prominent name and can be considered a "marker" of Quang Binh on the world tourism map. In 2013, the Guinness World Records Organization recognized Son Doong as the largest natural cave with a volume of 38.4 million m3. Since then, images of Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park as well as Quang Binh Province have appeared more frequently in the mass media. Notably, the New York Times voted it "One of the 52 most attractive destinations on the planet" and "The most attractive destination in Asia" (2014); appeared on ABC 's Good Morning America (2015); was used as the setting for the Hollywood blockbuster Kong: Skull Island (2016) and Alan Walker's MV Alone, Pt. II with Ava Max (2019); Leading travel magazines and websites such as Lonely Planet, Telegraph, Trip Advisor ... rated it as "One of the most worth-experiencing places in Vietnam (2019-2021); Afar magazine (USA) and CN Traveller (UK) respectively honored it as "One of the 39 destinations in the world" and "One of the 7 wonders of the world of the year" (2022)... 
In addition to Son Doong, Quang Binh province is also famous for En cave - the third largest cave in the world; Va cave - the cave with the most unique stalactite system in Asia; Khe Ry cave - the cave with the longest underground river in the world; Thien Duong cave - the longest dry cave in the world... Besides that, there are Pygmy cave, Toi cave, Tu Lan cave system - Tien cave, Phong Nha cave, Tien Son cave... with wild and majestic beauty. Possessing a "cave kingdom" that attracts travel and exploration enthusiasts around the world, it is not difficult to understand why Quang Binh has become the leading adventure tourism center and paradise for discovery and experience in Asia. In 2022, the total number of tourists to the province is estimated to reach more than 2 million, 3.53 times higher than the same period in 2021 and reaching 100.5% of the 2022 plan. At the same time, total revenue from tourists is estimated to reach about 2,312.3 billion VND , 3.53 times higher than the same period in 2021 and reaching 102.8% of the 2022 plan. 
The attraction of Quang Binh province is also clearly demonstrated through international-class adventure, discovery and experience tourism products such as "Conquering Son Doong - the world's largest cave", "Discovering Rao Thuong nature - En Cave", Exploring the deep forest of Hang Ba... In particular, the tourism product "Conquering Son Doong - the world's largest cave" only welcomes 1,000 visitors/year and is currently sold out until June 2024. Along with adventure tourism products with many levels of difficulty, Quang Binh also offers visitors the opportunity to participate in trips to learn about nature experiences such as Mooc spring, zipline Chay river - Dark cave, Ozo Park, visit scenic complexes and traditional craft villages (Oxalis Holiday)... Cultural, historical, agricultural tourism products... or resorts, sports, and commerce are being focused on synchronous investment and modernization such as FLC Quang Binh Golf Link, Bang hot spring resort and rehabilitation area... 
It can be said that Quang Binh is not simply a place reflecting the hidden beauty of Vietnam, but also becoming a real "green diamond" of Asia and the world. In which, the "kingdom of caves" is a "unique" highlight. The planning of Quang Binh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies: Developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, and at the same time being one of the breakthroughs to promote growth, socio-economic development, economic restructuring associated with community benefits and sustainable development; positioning Quang Binh as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Vietnam, an adventure tourism center of Asia; Phong Nha - Ke Bang national tourist area is one of the two growth driving centers of the province; by 2030, Quang Binh tourism will welcome 10 million visitors and contribute 10-12% of the province's GRDP.
