(NLDO) - Just after the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year ended, 15 principals in Dak To district, Kon Tum province rotated jobs and changed positions with each other.
On February 10, Mr. Pham Quang Phuc, Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Dak To district, Kon Tum province, spoke with reporters of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper about the rotation of 15 principals of kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the area at the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the reporter's investigation, in August 2024, Mr. Dang Hoang Nam, Chairman of Dak To District People's Committee, signed and issued a plan to mobilize and rotate leaders and managers of schools under the district People's Committee.
Accordingly, the rotation of leaders is principals and vice principals of affiliated school units with 5 years or more of continuous working time at a unit. In cases of less than 5 years, the District People's Committee will consider each specific case to decide. Implementation time is October 2024.

By the end of December 2024, after the District People's Committee submitted a report, the Standing Committee of Dak To District Party Committee, Kon Tum Province agreed on the policy, mobilized and appointed 15 principals of schools in the area. Immediately after that, on December 30, 2024, Dak To District People's Committee issued decisions to appoint and mobilize the above 15 principals for a period of 5 years, starting from January 3.
However, reflecting with reporters, some teachers said that the rotation and transfer while preparing to end the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year is inappropriate, affecting the general operations of schools, especially the monitoring of the work process and emulation of teachers.
Previously, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee had directed that during the school year, only teachers under its management authority would be transferred and seconded from after the end of the old school year to the start of the new school year (from after June 1 to before September 1), except in special cases.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Dak To district, said that teacher rotation is under the authority of the district People's Committee.
Mr. Pham Quang Phuc, Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Dak To district, said that the directive of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province is not to rotate teachers during the school year, while Dak To district rotates leaders and managers. This rotation was planned in advance and does not affect teaching at schools.
"The district is rotating some school leaders who have worked for many years. In addition, the district is considering the option of rotating a school that shows signs of internal disunity and should not be left for long," Mr. Phuc informed.
