Attack on commune headquarters in Dak Lak: Awarding "The Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to 6 martyrs

On June 12, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Decision No. 684/QD/TTg to award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to 4 martyrs of the Ministry of Public Security and 2 martyrs of Dak Lak province, who were officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives on June 11 in the incident where gunmen attacked the headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

The decision to grant the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate is based on the Law on Government Organization, the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Revolutionary Contributions and the proposal of the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in Submission No. 31/TTr-LĐTBXH dated June 12.

The list of 4 martyrs of the Ministry of Public Security includes: Martyr Hoang Trung (originally from Nghi Thu, Cua Lo, Nghe An), Major of the People's Police, police officer of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province); Martyr Tran Quoc Thang (originally from Thach Binh, Thach Ha, Ha Tinh), Major of the People's Police, police officer of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province; Martyr Ha Tuan Anh (originally from Dong Loi, Trieu Son, Thanh Hoa), Captain of the People's Police, police officer of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province; Martyr Nguyen Dang Nhan (originally from Tan Thanh, Yen Thanh, Nghe An), Captain of the People's Police, police officer of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

The list of 2 martyrs from Dak Lak province includes: Martyr Nguyen Van Kien (originally from Lien Nghia, Van Giang, Hung Yen), Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province; Nguyen Van Dung (originally from Hung Tien, Nam Dan, Nghe An), Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

This Decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation. The Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is responsible for implementing this Decision.

Previously, according to a report from Dak Lak Provincial Police, early in the morning of June 11, in Cu Kuin District, Dak Lak Province, a group of unidentified people used guns to attack the headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (including the working area of ​​the Commune Police), causing casualties to a number of commune police officers, commune officials and residents.

On the same day, June 11, the Ministry of Public Security directed Dak Lak Provincial Police and professional units to deploy to arrest the group of subjects.

The Ministry of Public Security requests that people in Cu Kuin district and neighboring areas remain calm and not panic; follow the requests of local authorities and functional forces. If anyone has information related to the above group of subjects, please provide it immediately to the nearest police agency.

On June 12, a Central working delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and encouraged the families of the victims in the gun attack on a commune headquarters in Dak Lak province.

On the afternoon of June 11, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, signed a decision to posthumously promote the ranks of 4 commune police officers and soldiers who died in the incident: Posthumously promoting the rank from Captain to Major for Mr. Hoang Trung (born in 1981, police officer of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province); posthumously promoting the rank from Senior Lieutenant to Captain for Mr. Nguyen Dang Nhan (born in 1994, police officer of Ea Ktur commune); posthumously promoting the rank from Senior Lieutenant to Major for Mr. Tran Quoc Thang (born in 1989, police officer of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district); posthumously promoting the rank from Senior Lieutenant to Captain for Mr. Ha Tuan Anh (born in 1991, police officer of Ea Tieu commune).

On the same afternoon of June 11, Minister To Lam, Chairman of the Management Board of the People's Public Security Comradeship Fund, signed a decision to support 100 million VND/family for the families of the 4 fallen soldiers; support 50 million VND/person for 2 injured Cu Kuin District Police officers, Senior Lieutenant Dam Dinh Bop (born in 1993, Deputy Head of Ea Ktur Commune Police) and Captain Le Kien Cuong (born in 1988, Ea Ktur Commune Police officer).
