Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the set of standards for recognizing digital schools in the area.
This plan aims to carry out the project of 50 digital schools to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day and "Digital libraries for 50 digital schools", while promoting digital transformation activities in educational institutions in the area.
The plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee clearly states: From now until February 28, 2025, the education and training sector will deploy an information system synthesizing the assessment results of the Digital School Standards Set (referred to as the assessment system) to ensure suitability, substance, publicity, transparency, and objectivity. In February 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will organize training on the implementation contents and instructions for the implementation of the standards set on the Assessment System for the People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts.
The Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts, educational institutions organize the assessment at the unit according to the set of standards. The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City synthesizes the results on the assessment system, makes a list of educational institutions eligible for recognition as digital schools; submits to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for consideration, recognition, and ensures the progress of recognition of educational institutions that have achieved digital schools to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
From April 5 to 15, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications to equip digital libraries for 50 digital schools; coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Education Publishing House to build a digital platform and resources, copyrights of books and documents in the field of education to deploy the equipment of these libraries.
From April 15 to 25, the Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to recognize digital schools for qualified educational institutions.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches, along with the People's Committees of districts and Thu Duc City, to develop a detailed implementation plan, guide implementing units, organize training, professional development, inspect, monitor and evaluate the implementation.
