(VLO) On the morning of February 13, 8 districts, towns and cities in Vinh Long province simultaneously held the 2025 military enlistment ceremony in a solemn and emotional atmosphere.

Comrade Tran Tien Dung - Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee encouraged young people to join the army.

In Binh Tan district, the military handover ceremony was attended by Major General Huynh Van Ngon - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9; Comrade Tran Tien Dung - Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Lu Quang Ngoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, Colonel Tran Minh Trang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee, along with 131 citizens and their relatives.

Comrade Lu Quang Ngoi awarded certificates of merit to exemplary families in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in Binh Tan district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tap - Chairman of Binh Tan District People's Committee said that the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2025 was carried out strictly and in accordance with regulations; always under the urgent and drastic leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government, along with the close coordination of the Front, departments, branches and organizations; especially the active advisory role of the Military Service Council at all levels.

Through this, he requested Party committees, authorities, fronts, and organizations from district to grassroots levels to continue to implement well the military rear policy; pay attention to creating favorable conditions for families whose children join the army, stabilize their lives to develop the economy; contribute to encouraging children to feel secure in their duty to protect the country during their military service.

In 2025, Vinh Long province was assigned the target of selecting and calling 1,297 citizens to perform military service and the duty of joining the People's Public Security. To best prepare for the military recruitment in 2025, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has directed Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen the Party's leadership in the task of military recruitment.

Since then, the Party Committee and the government have paid close attention to directing the military recruitment work, promoting the core advisory role of military agencies and police at all levels, effectively implementing propaganda and mobilization work to raise awareness of families and youth in complying with the Law on Military Service and the Law on People's Public Security, paying attention to implementing well the mobilization and socialization work to take care of families and recruited citizens... Thanks to that, the quality of recruited citizens of the province in 2025 is assessed to be higher than in previous years.

The new recruits were excited to set out to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

The province has handed over 951 citizens to units under the Ministry of National Defense, including 950 male citizens and 1 female citizen. Handed over 346 citizens to units under the Ministry of Public Security. Of these, there are 16 party members, accounting for 1.23% of the target, an increase of more than 45% compared to 2024. The quality of health type 1 and type 2 of citizens performing military service increased by 7.7%. High school education level doubled. College and university increased by 1.2% compared to 2024.
