VinFast VF 5S appears in Vietnam

VinFast VF 5S is only about 8 million VND cheaper than the Plus version with almost the same amenities.

Actual images of the VinFast VF 5 electric car recently appeared on social networks showing a "strange" appearance, considered the VinFast VF 5S version, with a selling price 8 million VND cheaper than the previously familiar Plus version.

VinFast VF 5S uses iron rims with plastic covers

The only difference between the VF 5S and VF 5 Plus versions is the wheel set. While the VF 5 Plus uses 17-inch alloy wheels, the VF 5S version uses 16-inch iron wheels similar to its younger brother, the VF 3. However, the VF 5S is equipped with additional plastic wheel covers.

The operating features, safety features as well as amenities are almost the same as the Plus version. Thus, there is still no cheap “standard” version of the VF 5 like the variant currently distributed in the Indonesian market.

The overall dimensions of the VinFast VF 5S are on par with A-class SUVs on the Vietnamese market today, with a length of 3,965 mm, a width of 1,720 mm, a height of 1,580 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,513 mm.

Compared to the Plus version, the size of VinFast VF 5S remains unchanged.

In terms of engine, the car has a capacity of 134 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque, the strongest in the A-size SUV segment, with a maximum range of 326.4 km (according to NEDC) after each full battery charge. VF 5 S is also equipped with outstanding amenities and safety in the segment such as a 6-airbag system, cruise control, blind spot warning, rear traffic warning, Vietnamese virtual assistant with voice control...

VinFast VF 5S is equipped with a lot of technology, comparable to A-class SUV models, including vehicle management by phone, integrated applications, smart assistants, and a safety technology package including automatic cruise control, blind spot warning, rear traffic warning, traffic flow warning when opening the door, emergency brake assist, rear sensors, electronic balance, tire pressure monitoring...

Currently, VinFast VF 5 has no competitors in the pure electric A-class SUV segment in the Vietnamese market. If we expand the reference system to gasoline cars, we can see that competitors such as Hyndai Venue, Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize are also running many incentive packages and discounts to increase competitiveness.
