On the night of April 13 and early morning of April 14, Iran launched a large-scale air attack targeting Israeli territory in response to the attack on the consulate of the Iranian embassy in Syria.

On the evening of April 14, in response to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to Iran's missile launch into Israeli territory, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized: "Vietnam is deeply concerned about the current escalating tensions in the Middle East, especially acts of force that violate the United Nations Charter and cause losses to civilians."

Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, not to use force, resolve disputes by peaceful means, and strictly comply with international law, the Charter and relevant resolutions of the United Nations. Vietnam requests that parties immediately stop acts of force that escalate tensions, for the sake of security, safety, peace and stability in the region and the world.

The United Nations and many countries also issued statements calling for restraint and avoiding the spread of conflict in the Middle East.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the serious escalation represented by Iran's large-scale attack on Israel. He called for an immediate end to these actions.

The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold a meeting at 4 p.m. on April 14, US time (4 a.m. on April 15, Vietnam time) on the incident.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Vietnamese embassies in the Middle East to closely coordinate with local authorities and diplomatic missions, strengthen citizen protection measures, assign staff on duty, and regularly contact Vietnamese community leaders in the areas to continuously update information. So far, the situation of Vietnamese citizens in the areas remains safe.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel and the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran have advised citizens on measures to ensure security and safety and will continue to closely monitor the situation, maintain regular contact with the Vietnamese community, develop citizen protection plans appropriate to the developments of the conflict, and protect the safety of Vietnamese citizens.
