In 2024, Vietnam imported pork from about 43 markets around the world, of which Brazil supplied 39.95% of Vietnam's total pork imports.
The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited data from the General Department of Customs saying that in 2024, Vietnam will import 876,67 thousand tons of meat and meat products, worth 1.78 billion USD, up 15.2% in volume and 18.1% in value compared to 2023.

In 2024, India will remain the largest market supplying meat and meat products to Vietnam, accounting for 22.14% of the country's total imported meat and meat products, with 194.06 thousand tons, worth 644.91 million USD, up 9.9% in volume and 23% in value compared to 2023.
Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products from many markets in 2024 will continue to grow in both volume and value compared to 2023, such as the United States, Australia, Canada, Poland, South Korea, the Netherlands, Argentina, Hong Kong (China), Iran, Italy, Japan, Turkey, Belgium, New Zealand, France, the United Arab Emirates, etc. However, imports of meat and meat products to Vietnam in 2024 will still decrease from some major markets such as Russia, Brazil, Spain, and Denmark.
In 2024, Vietnam will mainly import meat types including: Meat and edible by-products after slaughter, fresh, chilled or frozen poultry; Fresh, chilled buffalo meat; Edible by-products after slaughter of live pigs, buffaloes, and cows, chilled or frozen; Fresh, chilled or frozen pork; Fresh, chilled or frozen beef... Of which, the import volume of all types increased, except for the import of fresh, chilled pork, which decreased in both volume and value compared to 2023.
Accordingly, Vietnam's imports of fresh chilled or frozen pork in 2024 will reach 109.8 thousand tons, worth 257.29 million USD, down 8.9% in volume and 12.2% in value compared to 2023. The average import price of fresh chilled or frozen pork to Vietnam is 2,338 USD/ton, down 3.7% compared to 2023.
In 2024, Vietnam will import pork from about 43 markets around the world, of which Brazil will supply 39.95% of Vietnam's total pork imports; Russia will supply 30.33%; Canada will supply 6.35%, Germany will supply 6.04%, the Netherlands will supply 3.89%, and other markets will supply 13.45%.
