In a video posted on his personal page on the afternoon of April 24, Vardy shared: "This is something I have thought about and discussed with my family. I think it is time to make a decision. I will be very sad on my last day at the club, but all good things must come to an end. I have had many great moments at this club, with many successes, and also difficult times, but most of them are good memories."

Vardy confirmed his departure from Leicester when the Foxes were officially relegated, just one year after returning to the Premier League. The former Fleetwood Town striker helped Leicester win the historic Premier League title in the 2015/16 season. At that time, Vardy had an explosive performance when scoring 24 goals, under the guidance of coach Claudio Ranieri.

Vardy scored a total of 198 goals in 498 appearances for Leicester, becoming the club's all-time Premier League goalscorer. He also played a part in Leicester's 2021 FA Cup win over Chelsea at Wembley.

This season, Vardy has scored 8 goals in 31 matches in all competitions for Leicester. The burden of age has prevented this striker from shining regularly at the King Power Stadium.

After Vardy, coach Ruud van Nistelrooy also faces the risk of being fired, when Leicester only won two out of 21 Premier League matches.

Bruno Fernandes shined on the day MU won big against Leicester. In the early morning of March 17, Bruno scored 1 goal and 2 assists to help MU defeat host Leicester 3-0 in round 29 of the Premier League.
