As reported, The Cong - Viettel Club was approved to organize matches of rounds 20, 21 and 24 of V-League 2024 - 2025 (on April 25, May 2 and May 23) at Hang Day Stadium from the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports (the stadium management unit) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF, V-League organizing committee).
However, this has met with opposition from the Hanoi Police Club due to concerns that the weather may rain and the Hang Day Stadium surface will not ensure quality for the second leg of the semi-final of the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship, against PSM Makassar on April 30.
On the afternoon of April 24, a technical meeting took place before the match between The Cong - Viettel and Song Lam Nghe An at Hang Day Stadium on April 25, within the framework of round 20 of V-League 2024 - 2025.
According to a source from Tuoi Tre Online , The Cong - Viettel Club continued to face difficulties during the inspection of Hang Day Stadium when a locker room was locked, and the new lighting system on the second floor of stands A and B could not be turned on.
These are the items at Hang Day Stadium that Hanoi Police Club invested in upgrading to serve the team's home matches.
The Cong - Viettel Club also discussed with the Hanoi Police Club but the matter soon reached a "dead end".
It is likely that the match between The Cong - Viettel Club and Song Lam Nghe An will still take place as planned.
The army team borrowed a functional room at the stadium to convert into a changing room. They also rented an LED screen to display the scoreboard, and the lighting system in the four corners of the stadium still ensured the organization of the match.

Before the 2024-2025 season, The Cong - Viettel Club had to "give up" Hang Day Stadium to Hanoi Club and Hanoi Police Club due to the regulations of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) limiting a stadium to only be registered by a maximum of two home clubs during the entire season, applied from October 2023.
In previous seasons, Hang Day Stadium was the permanent home ground of Hanoi FC and The Cong - Viettel for many years.
At the start of the new season, The Cong - Viettel Club has reached an agreement to rent My Dinh Stadium as its home ground. However, because the exploitation rights are completely dependent on the My Dinh Stadium management board, coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team often find themselves playing on substandard grass.
Since the beginning of the season, the team has had to return to rent Hang Day Stadium twice because My Dinh Stadium has scheduled events, with the first time in October 2024 having a Korean music concert, the most recent being on April 25, May 2 and May 23 with a series of domestic cultural events.
