Before the match between Da Nang and The Cong Viettel, the VAR system could not work as expected despite the efforts of the local organizers to fix it. At least, the first half of this match will take place without VAR.
VAR technology has problems.
The referee team in charge of the match includes main referee Nguyen Viet Duan, 2 assistants Le Duy and Nguyen Le Nguyen Thanh, 4th referee Le Duc Thuan. VAR referees are Truong Hong Vu and Nguyen Dinh Thai.
VAR (Video Assistant Referee) will be applied in V.League from the second leg of the 2022/23 season. This is a big step forward, helping to improve fairness in matches in Vietnam. VAR helps referees make accurate decisions that can change the outcome of the match.
The application of VAR has received support from teams and fans. The professionalism and image of the tournament have also improved. By the 2024/2025 season, V.League will have 4 VAR cars and the entire match will be supported by this advanced technology.
Along with increasing the number of vehicles, VFF and VPF also coordinate to organize training courses for personnel on VAR technology, and increase training so that referees, assistant referees and technicians can master how to use it.
