The price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at VND88.2 million/tael and sold at VND91.2 million/tael, an increase of VND200,000 compared to the previous trading session. Compared to the historical peak recorded in 2024, the price of SJC gold bars is currently only about VND1.2 million lower.
Notably, since the Lunar New Year holiday, the price of gold bars of the national gold brand has continuously increased sharply. In just 4 trading sessions this week, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by more than 2 million VND/tael.
At Phu Quy Group, SJC gold bars had a sharper decrease in buying price of 400,000 VND/tael and 500,000 VND/tael in selling price, trading in the range of 87.3 - 90.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
Mi Hong Company - a large gold enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City - is still listing the buying and selling price of gold bars at 88.2 - 89.2 million VND/tael.

Besides gold bars, domestic gold ring prices also continued to increase in the morning session of February 6. Currently, SJC 99.99 gold rings, type 1-5, are being traded at VND88.1 - 90.6 million/tael (buy - sell), an increase of VND100,000 compared to February 5.
Many major gold brands such as PNJ, DOJI, Phu Quy, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai... also adjusted the price of gold rings to increase from 100,000-200,000 VND/tael.
At DOJI Group, Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 round gold rings are listed at VND87.5 - 90.7 million/tael (buy - sell). The price has decreased by VND700,000/tael for buying and VND500,000/tael for selling compared to the end of yesterday.
Phu Quy Group also recorded a decrease of 800 thousand VND/tael in the buying price and 700 thousand VND/tael in the selling price for Phu Quy 999.9 gold rings, the adjusted price decreased to 82.8 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The price of plain round gold rings of Rong Thang Long brand by Bao Tin Minh Chau decreased by 400 thousand VND/tael for buying and 500 thousand VND/tael for selling, bringing the buying price to 87.8 million VND/tael and the selling price to 90.65 million VND/tael.

The selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company also skyrocketed from VND89.6 million/tael to VND90.5 million/tael, equivalent to an increase of VND900,000/tael. The buying price of 9999 gold rings is also equal to the buying price of gold bars at VND88 million/tael.
The price of 9999 plain gold rings at PNJ Company also jumped up, following closely the selling price of gold bars, at 90.7 million VND/tael. The buying price is also equal to the buying price of gold bars, at 88 million VND/tael.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the selling price of gold rings was pushed up to 90.95 million VND/tael, equivalent to an increase of 900,000 VND/tael. This is also the highest selling price of gold rings on the market today. The buying price of 9999 gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company also increased to 88.2 million VND/tael.
At the end of the trading session on February 5, the world spot gold price increased by 23 USD to 2,866 USD per ounce. During the session, the price reached a new peak of 2,882 USD.
"Gold prices continue to be heavily influenced by trade uncertainty. The US imposed import tariffs on China and China retaliated almost immediately, causing safe-haven demand for gold to dominate the market," said Peter Grant, senior commodity strategist at Zaner Metals.
This week, three Federal Reserve officials warned that Trump’s import tariffs could fuel inflation, and that the uncertainty would prompt the Fed to slow its monetary easing.
Gold is often seen as a safe haven against inflation and geopolitical uncertainty. However, high interest rates also make the precious metal less attractive.
The ADP report showed that the US added 183,000 private sector jobs last month, higher than economists' forecasts of 150,000. The official US Department of Labor jobs report will be released on February 7.
In addition to gold, other precious metals also rose yesterday. Silver rose 0.8% to $32.3 an ounce. Platinum rose 1.8% to $980. Palladium closed at $990, up 0.3%.
