According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), instead of massively expanding pepper growing areas, Vietnamese pepper farmers are now focusing on improving product quality, applying sustainable farming methods and combining intercropping to reduce costs, while better adapting to the impacts of climate change.
Experts predict that the global pepper supply will not be enough to meet the increasing demand, causing prices to increase sharply from 2025, opening up development opportunities for the industry. At the same time, this year's harvest is slower than previous years due to unfavorable weather.
According to records, Dak Nong farmers are currently harvesting pepper. Compared to the same period in 2024, this year's pepper price has many positive signs, making people excited and hopeful for a bumper crop.

Experts say global pepper output in 2025 is forecast to continue to decrease compared to 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year of decline since 2022.
This reflects the fact that pepper is no longer the main crop of many farmers, especially in the context of the significant increase in economic value of other crops such as durian, coffee and oil palm. In addition, climate change with extreme weather events has reduced productivity and increased the cost of maintaining pepper production.
In 2024, Vietnam exported 250,600 tons of pepper of all kinds. Of which, black pepper reached 220,269 tons and white pepper reached 30,331 tons. Total export turnover reached over 1.3 billion USD; of which black pepper contributed 1.12 billion USD and white pepper reached 200 million USD.
